I just think this organization is obsessed with Bama players. It's lazy scouting imo.

I used the Shanahans as an example when it came to running backs. I would never take one in the first 3 rounds of a draft. They have had so many no name runners that got a 1,000 yards.
You’re too dazzled by the measurables.
Give me a RB with vision.

He also protects the ball and even in the SEC along with being able to catch also. He has all the tools to be our dynamic every down back for a long time.

I can see a situation where Robinson handles most of the main RB duties on 1st and 2nd downs and Gibson becomes more of a swiss army knife/3rd down back along with McKissic.

Gibson and McKissic on the field at the same time in a 3rd down back role for certain formations would be great. Tons of options for this offense.

As long as its not 3rd and short, one of the 2 would most likely to be paired up vs a LB.
Comes down to Wentz seeing and making the quick decision throws vs passing them up for longer developing plays.

im worried about Wentz and west coast offense play calls.

Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion

You guys are gushing over Robinson after one pre season game..lol. . Might want to wait until he actually does something in a few regular season games. All he has done in the NFL is have a few nice carries in one pre season game. Just remember Matt Jones was the same kind of back. Not saying BR will be Jones but just wait until we get to the regular season, then we can judge him.

Gibson still has been a pretty productive player minus the fumbles. If he can clean that up he is still be a very good back. You need two guys.

Take a deep breath folks. It's pre season.

Actually I was gushing over Robinson before the preseason started. He has all the tools, and he's been a RB his whole football life. It makes a difference. He had to wait for his opportunity sitting behind guys like Najee Harris, Damien Harris, and Josh Jacobs. He had three fumbles in five seasons at Alabama, and over 1600 yards from scrimmage in his only full year as the RB1. Not a lot of wear and tear... What's not to gush about?

AG is a good back, and can be productive, but also cannot be trusted. I don't think we need any more of a sample size to prove that.

I was thinking Seastrunk but yes, Matt Jones is the perfect comp. Nice pull. Forgot about that guy. 2015 3rd round pick, almost same height 6'2" and weight 230 lb as Robinson.

Gibson was one of seven RB to go for over 1k last year, avg 4 yds a carry ... but he also led the league in fumbles.

I don't even care about last week, it's about his tape at Alabama and the fact Gibson keeps fumbling.

LOL, no way. I know he was a popular guy here, but there's a reason why he was released, rode the pine in Houston, and has now been released again in the first cuts.

Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion

The only time I take a RB in the first 3 rounds if he is a Marshall Faulk, Tomlinson type. Those guys were elite runners obviously, but also they were elite pass catchers as well. You could split them out and they could literally run all the wr routes, so they were difficult to defend. In the league today this is the only type of backs that I'd want.

The BR type of backs to me are sort of a dime a dozen. You can find them anywhere really, deep in the draft or UFA. Henry is the exception obviously.

But the few runs BR had he hit the damn hole hard and moved the pile. No messing around so that was nice to see.
