BPA... I wouldn't be surprised if we took a player on offense with the first pick. If he takes a guard then so be it. Maybe that will help us run the ball on 3rd and 1 and score more td's.

Somewhere along the Dline, getting better there will make everybody else better. Safety would be next. At ILB Comp and Foster are upgradable, but at least they're both competent. Not a high priority to me

I watched these guys run pass receiving drills on TV at the Combine yesterday. These are my observations:

McCaffery: His pass routes were precise; his cuts were sharp and fast; he catches the ball with an easy fluidity like a WR; clearly the best pass catcher of the group. This guy is a smooth, fast athlete who will bring tremendous value to some team. We know he can run the ball, he's a tremendous PR/KR, he catches everything thrown to him, and, I assume he can probably pass well, too. Talk about Slash! He should be an awesome 3rd Down back/Slot Receiver/PR/KR. I think he could play WR, as well.

Cook: He is pure excitement in everything he does. He is a spectacular athlete. He ran very good routes; he has soft natural hands; made the best catch of the day. His quickness is amazing. I'm not sure if he is big enough to be a prime back in the NFL but i sure want to see him try. He reminds me of Shady McCoy.

Fournette: Wow! What an NFL body! He can definitely carry the load in the NFL. He ran decent routes but he struggled catching the ball at first. You could tell that he wasn't used to catching the ball but he improved with every rep - no kidding, visible improvement. By the end of the drills, he was catching the ball just fine. He obviously has the capacity to learn fast. This guy is an exciting big back.

I would draft any of them. There were some other good looking pass receivers among the RB's but I don't have time to get to them right now. I might mention them later.

There really is no wrong choice on defense. We can use upgrades at all 3 levels. You can make valid arguments for all of them.

We all know somehow someway McCaffery is going to end up on the Patriots. He's going to be the running back version of Edelman.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

Here is my main issue with the BPA theory alone...

the guy in charge of one of the strongest builds of any NFL Team (Seattle's John Schneider) destroy's that premise on its own in the first line of this article....

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider admitted last week that need plays a major factor when setting the draft board.

Well yeah, thats common sense. Only fans think you go into a draft and just blindly take the "best" player available

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

I want Obi Melifonwu and Rasul Douglas. It would be nice to have some great size in the secondary.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

No way Myles Garrett isn't the number one overall pick now. Cleveland, don't be stupid. 272 lbs and a 4.64 40. And the dude is straight jacked.

Either one would be great by me. I am surprised nobody is talking about Solomon from Stanford. The D line really sucks and is paramount to helping our def backs.

Melifonwu had a great combine, he just moved onto my want list.
