"[Jimmy Garappolo] is definitely a person of interest" in 2022 QB search, per
@john_keim .

Seriously though JG is probably one of the more realistic of possible targets, as long as we don't give up a ton and draft a QB as well, I can live with it. |

I’m telling Turner to improve the running scheme this offseason. Jimmy G was propped up by scheme, good head coaching and a best in class running game…he’s a statue with limited mobility. I’ll probably be against this move as I was against Alex Smith. I really hope we don’t give the big extension and move a defensive player as well.

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1
Do we think that Dan and Kyle are going to "negotiate" fairly with each other here? I'm sure if they decide to trade Jimmy...if there are other trade partners, Kyle will send him elsewhere just to not have to deal with this franchise.

Dan and Kyle won't be the negotiators I'm sure. All SF will be concerned about is getting the best offer for him.

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1
Jimmy G route ...
1. Trade a 2 round pick plus (Kendal Fuller or Montez Sweat or Daron Payne) 2. Sign him to a 4 yr/100M contract w 60M guaranteed 3. Sounds like Bruce fucking Allen Jimmy G doesnt solve our problems, he extends them. Its another bandaid all in an attempt to go 8-9 vs 4-13. We NEED to go 0-17. But RR didnt come here to tank and I imagine RR, Del Rio, Turner, Mayhew etc all want to keep their jobs. This organization sucks so bad, they cant even be bad the correct way. -------------- Flowers contract extensions should be interesting. I think he rightfully sits out if he doesnt get a new deal with guaranteed money. What do you do? Hes a C+/B- type guard who i dont think is worth 10M AAV but I imagine thats what he will get. |

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1
I actually like Jimmy G, but what would it take to get him, and can he stay healthy?

I just dont think Jimmy G is the solution. We are looking for our Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, someone we can build around for a decade. Who knows, maybe we end up with a Baker Mayfield or daniel Jones or jalen Hurts but we have to keep playing the 1st round QB lottery until we hit. Jimmy G, Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith .... fine QBs if you want to go 8-9, maybe backdoor a wild card game every 4 years. ------------ If our D played top 5 to 10 this year, that pass rush showed it is something real .. then Id be all on board with a Jimmy G. Then we would have a logical chance. watching this D and that front 5 (before injuries) really disappointed me. I thought we had something. Something special. A top 5 defense. Jimmy G + top 5 D = sign me up. Jimmy g + this D = whats the point? |
