Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Honestly, if we ended up taking a RB with #6, I'd be ticked. Shanahan has said Royster reminds him of a young Terrell Davis and Helu is going to be special as well. I think we're set with those guys and HT.

But again it makes no sense for Manning to consider the Redskins. He, for all practical purposes, is the offensive coordinator and QB of his team. Why play under arguably the most limited HC/OC duo in terms of versatility and vision? Manning's not going "learn" a losing, esoteric scheme and thereby give up on what he's been doing for over a decade...he's going to do what he does best: shred defenses, often in a no-huddle offense calling plays at the line. He's got more football intelligence than Mike and Kyle combined, what an awkward situation it would be to play for them!!!

Smoot.. speaking on Peyton Manning. If he is healthy would there be interest from the Redskins?
Could he be a guarded secret around the franchise?

Smoot question: I know Shanny doesn't draft RBs first round but how does he feel about Trent Richardson?

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Thanks. I could def see why the execs and others would not be enamored with Manning
Arm strength and his quick release could be long term issues with the recovery from the injury. We all know he has a great head for the game and an impressive work ethic, but can that overcome possible physical skill in decline as well as lingering injury issues with him. Remember this was the guy who never missed a game in his career, but that has all changed now. He may not even be cleared to play again. It also may be a possibility that people around the league don't believe he will ever be able to recover or have a deeper understanding than we do of what is really going on with his neck. I wish him the best unless the Cowboys give him a shot then he can go to hell. lol That would be a real kick in the nuts if he went on the play for the Boys and won another SB.. could totally see JJ signing him in a NY minute. I am somewhat surprised that they have not shown any interest, I could see them being a sleeper team in the whole PM deal.

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Eli on Peyton: "He is going to do everything he can to get back." per half time interview done by Bob Costas during the Pro Bowl. In listening to the tone of Eli's voice and words spoken it does not sound like Peyton is any where near being ready to play or even close to a point where he would be able to. There was also some doubt in his voice in talking about Peyton ever being healthy enough to play again.
BTW : The pro bowl is such a joke. Talking heads on the radio keep talking about how to create more interest in the game, start by letting them actually play football. The game is a joke. There will never be interest in this game, it does not resemble a real NFL game and it never will. The sport is to violent and the players don't feel a need to go out there and try and fight each other.

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Switching back to a 3-4 now would be retarded. Haslet is not going anywhere so let him get the last few pieces he needs for his side of the ball before we scrape this D. They were significantly better this year then last, and they will get better. No reason to go back now.
The more I think about Rak, I think he should be shopped. He may not be the right fit for an OLB in a 3-4. He really fell off this year even though we upgraded the whole unit. If he is a piece we can part with to get a QB then I am all for it. We can find another player who plays as well as him quicker then we will find another QB we really like.
