It's personal preference. I don't think your position is a bad one, it's just not my favorite option.

The draft experts are all goo-goo ga-ga over Bryce Young 6’ 194 LBs. Sam Howell 6’1” 220lbs is just as talented, fuck trading for any of these clowns in particular Rodgers and Carr. Roll with Sam all the way, he has it and these idiot coaches did not give him enough game time. Don’t want to mortgage our salary cap on washed up QB’s, sign players like Payne, Curl, Holcomb, draft 3 OL, CB, LB and call it a day.

Bryce Young has been talked about since HS that's why. He's a magician in the pocket similar to Burrow and he's very accurate.

I think he's good too and hope they build around him but I also know Ron is going to be in win now mode so I bet he gets another QB

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

Give me this 2023 QB room:

Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett and 1 of these possible mid-round guys:

Hendon Hooker/Jaren Hall/Dorian Thompson-Robinson/Clayton Tune/Tanner McKee/Aidan O'Connell/Jake Haener

Ron is a fucking idiot, how many draft picks is he going to give away to get the same result he did with Smith and Wentz.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

I wouldn't mind another vet QB but I don't want to give up another draft haul for him. That's why I'm comfortable bringing in another vet in FA to compete with Howell. Next year is a wasted year anyways with a lame duck HC and a probable new owner.

It may seem that way but make no mistake it's been 3GM's ,4 HC and 3 OC add 2 DC over 10 years. This is still a rebuild and not close to being done.

This was my first thought too, and what I believe to be the best approach. It would give them the opportunity to get something done with Payne and Curl, and revamp the offensive line, LB corps, and secondary via free agency and the draft.

If not, and they must go after one of the higher tier QBs, please don't mortgage the future for 40 year old AR. Wait for D Carr to be released and get a deal done with him.

It’s time to extend Curl…making lil money and crucial to defense. Just get it done

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

I put other. My preferred options is to see if a QB with a first or second round grade is available when we pick. Maybe a minor move up like the Ravens did for Lamar.

Id be okay with that ... doesnt solve our QB1 problem but Brissett could compliment our 2-1 run offense, probably be better at quick pass play calls, good ball protection and let the D do their thing.

------------------

Carr's most recent extension included the right for the Raiders to cut him within three days of the Super Bowl for a relatively minor $5.625 salary-cap hit and gave the quarterback a no-trade clause.

Thursday's statement could be seen as taking away the Raiders' leverage in a trade. Carr, whose contract guarantees him $40 million if he is still with Las Vegas or agrees to a trade before Feb. 15, could simply wait for the Raiders to release him and hit the open market, with Las Vegas getting nothing in return.

Trades cannot become official until March 15. So if the Raiders do find a trade partner for Carr, not only would the quarterback have to agree to the destination, the Raiders would also have to trust that the other team would not back out. So while Carr might find a robust market for his services, his trade value to the Raiders might not be as high as it once was.

Cant say I fully understand this or seen it before.

Looked up Carrs contract .. what a funky contract. there is little guaranteed money left and its all salary.

Wow what an odd contract.
