Re: Scott Turner Fired

Doesn't matter.
Turner never adjusted the game plan to compensate for the piss poor performance of the Oline. Obvious passing downs were disastrous for all 3 QBs because the line couldn't slow a 4 man rush.

If your line is shit, you need to be a run heavy team and get the play action going.
Turner called maybe 4 good games.

Re: Scott Turner Fired

In fairness to Scott, he never had a good QB here and it's not easy to put up 20 plus points a week with a QB2.. He tried to do some creative motion plays butwhen your QB is so limited it makes it tough. At teh end of the day they can interview anyone they want but nothing matters until Howell proves hes legit or we get a QB1

I think even when you take into account the lack of a quarterback and a shit o line the dude still constantly tried to fit a square peg into a round hole.
We collectively said it all year, don’t overthink it Scott - run the ball Scott. That 4th down where he ran Samuel into the teeth of the defense was the final nail in his coffin.

Re: Scott Turner Fired

Give Turner a decent QB, an O-line that can block for him, and the experience he gained as the OC here - and I think he could end up being a good OC. I don't think he was terrible, and he was not exactly dealt a great hand here. He definitely made what I thought were some dumb play calls at times, but as some experts have also indicated, he did scheme guys open a lot. It was a mixed bag, and ultimately I agree that he had to go, but he was new at it and could be successful somewhere else.

Re: Scott Turner Fired

I felt w/ Scott he was never calling plays to set up other plays later in the game. Sometimes it looked like he would just close his eyes and call a play and go w/ it. He totally did not know how to use Samuel. That guy should have been in the slot and dominating in there w/ his quickness, instead you had him running up the middle doing dumb shit. I just didn't like the way he called the games.

But even then he did get guys open only to have Wentz throw the ball off target by 5 yards. Ron should be fired for that signing. Instead he scapegoated Scott.

I saw reports last week that Eric isn't interested in interviewing for offensive coordinator job. But of course that could change if there is no team wanting to interview him for head coach job.

He’s my favorite rumor so far, I’m intrigued by the guy from Atlanta Charles London and the Rams Thomas Brown.

Re: Scott Turner Fired

I have mixed feelings about Bieniemy. I know he holds the title 'offensive coordinator', but let's be honest, Andy Reid is the guy running that offense. So, I can't get all giddy about how successful he has been there. I can appreciate that he has learned from one of the best though.

But why has he not landed a HC job after interviewing every year, and why is KC content to let him go?

Can KC block him from interviewing if its a literal or promotion he is interviewing for? I am not sure

He signed a one year extension last year. He is not under contract after the Super Bowl, and I have not seen anything showing that he is signing a new deal with Kansas City. So I don't think they can block him from doing anything.

Seems they are willing to part ways. 🤔

Re: Scott Turner Fired

Just remember this as you begin to get excited about a new OC or even a new HC: There isn't a single thing that Dan Snyder and Ron Rivera couldn't turn into a disaster for the fans. At this point, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Snyder screws up the sale of the team or if he has been playing the other owners all along. After all, he is chronically unable to play it straight with anyone.

As for Ron, why is he so busy looking for a new OC if he didn't believe he was going to be here next season? And how would he know that?

Also, who in his right mind would take the OC job knowing that the future of the entire franchise is up in the air?

So, get ready for more disappointments and even massive screwups by the Commanders' deranged owner. Why? So he can buy more time to manipulate other people in order to buy even more time to manipulate even more people. That is what I think he lives for. If I misjudge him, he can prove it to me by selling the team by the end of March, 2023. I think that's fair.

Chargers hiring Kellen Moore as their new OC

That was quick

Re: Scott Turner Fired

I think w/ Eric B he has come to the conclusion that he's never going to be a head coach staying put in KC. He's going to have to go out and make his own path and run his own offense all by himself. I doubt he's going back there after the Super Bowl.

If he's hired here he'll at least have one year to prove himself. But we have no proven QB and a lame duck as HC. It's just not a good situation.

Also the guy has a pretty checkered past including assaulting a female. I think in the end Zampese will be the guy by default.

You are right. The Commanders will talk a lot about the various coaches they interviewed or had an interest in but that's all window dressing. Zampese will be the coach.
