Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I really think after trading for Carson, there's not much chance that we'll draft a QB.

So, If I understand the salary cap and, in view of the outrageous (to me) prices teams are paying for supposedly franchise QB's, then the Commanders may have set things up for two possible ways to get the QB they need at a minimal price. They signed Wentz and now they could draft a QB they like. If Wentz is able to turn things around here, great! If not, then they could cut Wentz and go with the young QB they drafted. Then again, I may not fully understand all of the potential salary cap gotchas. |

It is loaded. A lot of speed galore also. Would not surprise me to see numerous all pros come from this draft. With this type of depth, we should trade down. No doubt in my mind we can get 2 stud starters with trading down that #11.

JEREMY RUCKERT TE I’m really high on this guy. The depth of this draft is unbelievable. Getting more picks 2nd-4th round should be a priority

I hear that but Hamilton, Lloyd, Cross, Wilson, London, the Sauce, - man one of those guys sitting there at 11 I am going to be absolutely torn about trading back. Sometimes that one stud game changer can make everyone around him better and is worth 3-4 good players. Guess we gonna find out. |

Middle of our D vs options and protection up front for Wentz. Both so important. Christian Harris and Lewis Cine could both be there at 47. I would take either and a stud WR at 11. I mean extra picks is great but if we got two impactful starters in rounds 1-2 by staying put I would consider it a victory. You trade back and you better hit. |

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Put me in the club that likes the idea of moving back and acquiring a couple more picks - unless Kyle Hamilton is there. He's probably the only player I wouldn't pass up at 11. Seriously doubt he'd still be there, but you never know.

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I just don't think you assume that contract, and give up draft picks, AND draft a QB this year. If they wanted a bridge QB, they could have signed one of the many free agent QBs that were available and then drafted a QB. I just don't see it happening now. This smells like a long term relationship - at least I believe that is what they are hoping for. The rest of the offseason they will do their best to surround him with weapons and protection, and shore up the D.
If he sucks, then they can hit the reset button next year. |

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Another month until the draft (4/28/22) ... thats approximately the life cycle of your common house fly (28 days) or 4 life cycles for the common male mosquito (7 days).
Male mosquitos do NOT feed on blood but just nectar. Female mosquitos do feed on blood and can live up to 5 months but their average life cycle is approximately 6 weeks. |
