goldson won't be back without a new deal. $8m is too much for a safety that's not a superstar. if the value is good, they'll be back (they have played well vs their contracts this year), if they want too much money, they won't be.

andre roberts is the only guy who really (Really) crapped the bed (though i guess you could throw RGIII in there too if you wanted).

I have to say I'm almost (if not more so) with Scot's ability to vet established players to fit in what we're trying to do. I mean people off the freaking streets have played solid to outstanding for us.

Looking so forward to the playoffs, but next year is going to be such a treat. This current team with everyone a year more experienced. No circus qb sideshow in the offseason. A fresh crop of draftpicks. Hot damn.

Coughlin came out looking pretty bad this year...Giants persistent ability to choke and not close out games seem to become a mental thing and Coughlin kinda perpetuated this non confidence. I don't think that staff works well together...

I thought the Minnesota game was the coup de grace. Lets be honest, the Giants looked the worst they ever had under Coughlin that past game. I know folks want to simply say "well their best player was out". No, that wasn't it, not close really

Dallas won't let Garrett go he's Jerry's puppet. As for the giants I don't think Coughlin is getting fired either. He's won 2 rings there and he's still well respected

Jerry Jones has the built in excuse to keep Garrett, which is Romo's injury and re-injury. He likes Garrett as the coach if for no other reason then the fact that Garrett will simply go with anything Jones says/does.

I hope Jerry keeps Garrett -- I don't think the guy is a particularly effective coach. Not Rich Kotite bad, of course, but rather meh. Let Dallas build around that.

As for Coughlin, I have a ton of respect for him, and while his team didn't perform all that well, I think the personnel issues are the biggest problem, and that ought to be on Reese. Not getting help last offseason for a bad defense seemed really foolish -- put it this way, they started Brandon Merriweather and, later in the season, EJ Biggers in the secondary. So castoffs from our porous secondary last season were contributors for the NYG. Just really bad decision-making there. And not doing anything about the aging O-line, sagging running game. Coughlin really didn't have a lot to work with, other than ELi and Beckham, in my view. If Coughlin is fired or if he "retires," the Giants will have trouble replacing him with as good a coach and person.

For years there has been the rumor that the only job Bill Cowher would come out of retirement for is the Giants so who knows
