Also optimistic, but not like 12 win optimistic. I'm really not sure on Kliff's offense and still a bit concerned about the OT position. JD balls out and it might not matter. We're probably another year away from (and no QB injuries) from "completing" the turnaround to a good overall base of talent across the roster.
In general the league doesn't believe in traditional 3 or 4 LB sets anymore. But I get what you're saying, even with that said Ron and co did a poor job at getting even decent LB talent in here.

I don’t see our cb’s being nearly good enough or deep enough to cut Forbes. We are the ones who will keep him because he is on a rookie contract. If he doesn’t improve then continue to add corners next offseason and get rid of him then.

"I don't think I've had a young quarterback that really has come in and within the first week be like, 'Hey, can we get this rep?' or 'Can we get this rep after practice?' It's exciting for me, because that opens the door … There's an open door of communication, and he's not afraid to get that work in. He's humble, but he's confident in his ability. He's played at the highest level. He's played against really good competition, and he knows that he can make all the throws. He's not putting the cart before the horse. He's literally taking this thing day-by-day."

Daniel's work ethic is unreal. This combined with the physical gifts making not getting excited impossible. Already love this kid.

Love what we're hearing so far about the kid and his work ethic, but all that matters is how he plays on the field. For now it's just talk and good sound bites.

Not to beat a literal dead horse, but everything we're hearing about Daniels is exactly what we need to be hearing about Daniels.

If the only press we were getting on Daniels involved him setting up his marketing brand before ever playing a down and charging people to attend his draft day party I'd be hella concerned.

Thankfully the only stories we're getting are of the "he's doing his best sponge impression and trying to soak up every bit of knowledge he can" which is exactly what he should be doing.

Yeah true, no red flags at all so far, it’s a good sign

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: 'I ain't a star quarterback yet'

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...uarterback-yet

...But from the time Daniels arrived in Washington, he has preached the same message: He just wants to do his job and is not elevating himself to any status other than rookie. He said he's working on "everything." He arrives to the facility daily around 5:45 a.m., watches film and does walk-throughs in the practice bubble with rookie receiver Luke McCaffrey. Daniels has picked the brain of veterans such as linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Humility and a lack of selfishness. This and the work ethic are highly impressive for a rookie. Everyone knows how amazing of a player he is. The work ethic, humility, and team centric attitude is what I love seeing right now. Really stands out for a player fresh out of college who just won the Heisman.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread

what I want from my QB:
don't get hurt/win games

so far it sounds like he's putting himself in a good position. None of it matters if he gets hurt or can't win games though. After 24 years of mostly garbage, it'd be nice to have a real answer at QB for the long term. Why not us?

Yes totally agree. He has been durable in college. Lasting 2 years in the SEC with minimal injuries at qb is impressive. His upside is way too high to not have drafted him. @ Tampa will be interesting to see how he plays and how his style translates to NFL.

As big of a Redskins fan that I am I am just as big a Celtics fan, and to see Tatum win it last night and I can still remember his draft not, I couldn't help but think I hope JD5 is this teams Tatum.

Tatum played great along with Brown. Congrats to the Celtics! Dominated this series.
