Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

All the choices played well and are deserving. I voted for Gomes. He had a solid game even though we were worried about that position before the game. He helped out on the Saints fumble that went out of the endzone and his Int. sealed the deal when I was on the edge of my seat and my throat was in my mouth.

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

I went with Robinson. Don't get me wrong, LOVED Morris (had him starting in both my fantasy leagues over many objections of my son), think the whole secondary did a helluva job, really the whole team could get one. BUT when Garcon went out, and we needed another receiver to step up, FD dropped a couple catchable balls, Moss made one nice play but was pretty quiet, Hankerson??, nope, A Robinson took the game in his hands, and didn't get overwhelmed.

Nice to see the one man goes down the next step up actually working.

I think this might be a fun season

Oh can we give an honorable mention to Logan Paulson, the one catch at the end of the game to help kill more time certainly made the defense's job a couple seconds easier!

Definitely! I like Paulson. He reminds me of Donnie Warren.

In that order.
Gotta add Bowen to that list. He was very disruptive the entire game. Brees either had heat or had to adjust a few throws.

It just something I love about seeing a big white boy like Paulsen drag defenders down field. I was like this is Redskins football right here.

No offense to big white boys

I did point oit that gomes was to be third and i forgot him. Truth is it would have been easier to make a non player of the game list. Lol

That made me laugh. He definitely looks old school. He's one hardnosed Redskin for sure. Great effort.

I should probably go with Cundiff but I'm gonna go with my preseason pick for 2012 Redskins FA MVP

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

1. Garcon looked very much like a No. 1 WR;

2. For this one game, the emphasis on upgrading the WR corp appearred to be the right approach. Again, which of our WR's last year makes the plays that Garcon and Robinson made yesterday?

3. The line did a journeyman's job (The run game was unimpressive, Morris had a 96 yards but only after a ton of carries). At the same time, if the O-Line didn't win the game, it certainly did not lose it;

4. Never heard Polumbus' name called or having his guy steam roll any significant plays (I may be wrong on that - if so, I am sure someone will point it out).

5. On D, if they are playing anyone but an elite QB like Brees, I am convinced they would have had several (not just one or two) more sacks. Brees just gets rid of the ball so damn fast. Not sure the same is true of many of the other QB's we have to face. (Bradford, Dalton, Freeman, Ponder). On front 7 played very well, making sure the back end was not having to hold coverage forever. When Brees had time, it was b/c he was scrambling away from pressure. It seemed rare that he was able to simply stand in the pocket and survey the field. If they can keep it up, I think our front 7 is going to terrorize some QB's.
