Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
While a lot of valid arguments can be made on both sides of the ability of Darnold as a QB...the argument I fear the most is the one internally about relinquishing a first round pick for Darnold. If they like him enough, I think it’s definitely on the table which would be a terrible mistake.

By the way, what is the valid argument that favors trading for Darnold? I certainly haven't seen one. He was overrated by the media talking heads coming out of USC. His being a former #3 overall pick is NOT a valid argument. He has proven that conclusively. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I would be at ease with them using a second if they thought he was worth it, but a first is too steep a price unless their second rounder came back along with him

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
First..I’m not a big fan of acquiring Darnold, but he is competitive, has the arm talent. He was on a terrible team with zero talent around him being coach by a moron with zero people skills. Gase/jets impact on stunting his growth can’t be ignored.
Plus in the league there is always without doubt orgs and head coaches thinking they can do it better and get more out of a talent like Darnold who was a legit top 5 draft talent.

If 8 teams are inquiring...a third of the league...people shouldn’t be surprised if he goes for a late first. It’s being discussed

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
If they want a first, I'm out. I think he has potential but he has not shown that he's worth the 19th pick. I doubt Ron is cool with that deal. If it's for 51? I'd say yeah

![]() There is a HUGE difference between touching base and making serious inquiry. Do I think a third (or even a quarter ) of the league is genuinely interested in trading real assets for more interceptions and fumbles? No. But you can feel free to believe the NY media, if you wish. Half the league is in the market for QB to some degree. For reportedly half of those teams to not even do due diligence on this guy for market price purposes speaks volumes. A team calls and says "Looking at a possible change at backup QB, and would like a guy with some starting experience in the NFL, what are you looking to get back for Darnold?" "A mid-to-late first rounder." "Click." That is a contact. I'm trusting RR here. I pray we don't make such a big mistake. We rid ourselves of Haskins and have the opportunity to progress and take advantage of the window our defense presents us with. Darnold would be a step backwards. My God, the Jets have given up on the guy. Trade a first rounder for him? Good grief. |

I don't see us trading for Darnold though, I think if a trade happens it'll be to move up

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
The Athletic's Ben Standig is also saying Washington is a likely landing spot for Mitch due to being a Free agent..
Man if he is our QB1 we will suck ass on O once again

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'd rather have Fitz than Trubisky. Although, I hope this means we are going after a QB in the draft.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
You say QB1 like it's a done deal. If we pick up anyone's scraps (this goes for Darnold too) I guarantee Ron is having a qb competition again this year (unless we give up a high price, which I'm also not a fan of).
