Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
lets just wait and see........... AJ Hawk, was suppose to be a stud, and he is a sub par player.......... they got it right with Clay Matthews, but he is rare..... there arent many clays out there.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Hawk a sub par player? Really? Do you watch football? Maybe he doesn't get sacks, but he's pretty darn good in coverage and makes tackles from sideline to sideline. I'd take him in the middle in the Skins D any day.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
AJ Hawk was affected by the transition to the 3-4 but still was able to adjust a bit. Put in as a 4-3 LB and I think he'd be much better. Ppl tend to dismiss how much scheme can affect a player effectiveness.

Still, there's a fairly solid consensus is that Hawk has been a bit of a letdown. |

Hawk is an ILB. Kerrigan an OLB. Cannot compare the two.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
I gave it a "B". At first, I thought that among all of the defensive needs, another pass rusher was a bit further down the list.
But then you have to consider: Orakpo is getting held practically the entire game, and if he's not getting pressure to the QB, then we're not getting pressure on the QB. The coaches obviously saw that. So sometimes even one great pass rusher isn't quite enough. During the glory years it was Mann and Manley -- hopefully Rak and Ryan can come somewhere close to that. |

AJ Hawk is more like a Brady James than anything else

Fug Jamie Dukes.
This kid smashed Michigan last year. He had 10 solo tackles, including 5 for losses with 4 sacks, two fumbles forced and one recovered. I think he'll be aight. |

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
On a team that needs a tackling machine, someone with good fundamentals, this kid fills that need. He had a lot of tackles for losses, which is a good thing.
