Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
Quinn’s record, including the playoffs, with Shanahan as his offensive coordinator: 21-14. Quinn’s record, including the playoffs, without Shanahan calling plays and designing schemes: 25-30. Quinn's success is totally dependent on his OC choice.

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
Quinn had success w/ Kyle. Why not Clint Kubiak? Why not go right back to that offense that you should have won a SB with? That to me makes way more sense. Way more.

I too would like a young up-and-comer playcaller, but if he is successful we'd have to deal with potentially watching him leave in a few years and replacing him. That's one of those good problems to have though.

That's a damn good problem to have. I'd like to have those problems.

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
There is a reason why EB wasn't called for HC Interviews... Also why didn't LV or ATL hire him as an OC? Hmmm

I believe JP tweeted this speculation right after the news broke. There were also a lot of rumblings on or about the week of the conference championship game that Johnson was not a sure deal.

If Ben Johnson doesn’t want to be a HC, that’s perfectly fine. But just communicate that up front.

I'm trying to move myself up from the hate it vote to something more positive, so I'm going w/ legit. We didn't want that bussey Johnson here anyways.

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
In terms of how most hiring trends it is unconventional in that he seems to be more of the same. Recently it seems teams drafting a QB pair with a young HC that was an innovative coordinator. This is why I said it depends on the coordinators. A retread also banking their entire HC career on a team that is so far from being relevant is also unconventional. He has a small window to try to make this happen and if it doesn't succeed he is probably a career coordinator from here on out. Watching Quinn's interviews I don't feel he has the arrogance or cockiness that some hot shit has and thinks they have a magic button and will turn this franchise around. He knows it will involve turmoil and might not succeed.

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
I voted to wait and see the coordinators Quinn hires. That is very important to the success of any HC. Does anyone know if there will be a committee involved in these decisions?
