Last Monday Night Football Game

I cant believe this is the last mnf game,I grew up watching it and before espn always looked forward to cosell's halftime highlites hoping to see some highlites of the skins. I havent watched that many games lately but i know i'll miss it,it wont be the same without it.Most of my redskin memories of mnf are losses,31-30 to dallas,48-47 to greenbay, those 2 stickout the most,at least my last redskin mnf memory will be that win over dallas.
Does anybody know if this is just the end of mnf on abc or is this the end of mnf?

Don't fret...it's NOT the end of MNF (THANK GOD) just the end of MNF on ABC, MNF is moving to ESPN next year...which sucks only because I really look forward to Tim McGraw's Halftime playback song every week...I wonder if they will keep that??

I can't stand the Tim McGraw thing. When they bring MNF to ESPN I really hope they leave that at ABC studios.

I don't under stand the move here. How does ESPN think it can make more money on MNF by bringing it to less homes?

Re: Last Monday Night Football Game

If I'm not mistaking, Disney owns (Parent Channel to) both channels and wants to put MNF on its all sports channel, ESPN and leave the other, ABC Prime Time for entertainment

Re: Last Monday Night Football Game

It's the year 2k5 if ya don't have cable or can't go to a sportsbar or neighbor's house for the game; you probably shouldn't have time to be an NFL fan. Will Sunday football move to another network or will it remain on ESPN?

You ARE mistaken, the NFL will be BACK on NBC!!!!!!!!! NBC will host the Sunday night game.

"On the other hand, Monday Night Football will move to ESPN, with the cable network paying a large sum of $1.1 billion per year from 2006 to 2014 for the rights to the lucrative franchise. Meanwhile, NBC, after losing their AFC package to CBS in 1997, has reclaimed its share of the NFL broadcast rights with a deal worth an average of $650 million per year from 2006 to 2012. This new deal will give them the Sunday night package, which they will rename as Football Night in America, as well as as the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl in 2009 and 2012, a likely means of reversing its current ratings slump"
