47 years old Wiki says hes worked under Bill Obrien (Texans) and Nagy (Bears) as running backs coach, Dave Raggone was his OC in Hotlanta and he did a bid with Gruden here in DC. Played college ball at Duke, mostly bench warmer. Coaching in some capacity in the NFL and Penn State since 2007. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_London

Shurmur has had success as an OC, but I feel like he is the dinosaur retread that we don’t want.

I just want someone at OC that can adapt to what we have and help Sam grow if he's indeed our QB1. Josh McDaniels is "young" and he has driven two franchises to the ground.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I'm just encouraged that they're looking outside of the Ron familiarity tree. Indicates a willingness to accept new ideas, casting a wider net.
If they end up promoting Zampese I'll be dismayed.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I like that as well. Although to be honest, a lot of coaches within Ron's coaching tree are in Buffalo and with the Giants, two teams that have been successful this year and are in the playoffs.

Jeremy Fowler
@JFowlerESPN Commanders are set to interview their quarterbacks coach, Ken Zampese, for the offensive coordinator job today, per source. Falcons QBs coach Charles London should be later in the week. LOL I thought Ron wanted outside of the organization... That dude is lost

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I really don't want Ron Rivera to make the hiring decision on a new OC. I just want a hiring freeze until the sale of the franchise is finalized, even if the new HC turns out to be Daffy Duck and he hires Elmer Fudd as his OC. I am s-o-o-o done with DS and RR. I just want them both to just GTHO ASAP.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I have read several articles that claim Washington is chasing Derrick Carr. I hope the team is not stupid enough to make a trade for him. He is another high priced, overrated, short on ability quarterback like the last one they traded away the house for. In all of his seasons combined, he as about a 60% completion rate. He is one of the lower level starting quarterbacks. I hope Washington passes. He will cost another arm and leg for a less than capable QB.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
They should give Carr a look only if he hits free agency. I definitely wouldn't trade anything for him.

Carr at best put us just out of the playoffs or a one and done team. To be successful in the NFL you need a good/great QB on a rookie contract, that is the sweet spot.
