I love it!! I flew the A-10 WARTHOG for 17 years. The really cool thing is that the 104 Fighter Squadron, Md ANG is at Glen Martin Field, Maryland. They’ve done flyovers for the team. It a great military connection as the unit has deployed for combat tours 4-7 months at least six times and maybe more.


Go with a plane that been there over 5 wars starting with Desert Storm (1991). Picking a plane gets us out of political decisions with NA and just honors a plane that is there for our soldiers and Marines. This is real picture of my last flight. Right after this I got out and was hosed down with a fire hose, which is the tradition for your FINI FLIGHT (actual name of it). Almost every current or recent WARTHOG pilot has flown at least some combat missions saving our Soldiers and Marines. And they’re still doing it!!

I also like the REDTAIL - it was in WWII, a storied fighter unit the flew the P-40, P-47 and finally the P-51 MUSTANG. A great tale that helped propel our nation even after the war.

Personally I think that Snyder will choose
WARRIOR. He owns the name, it can be construed as a support the military and it’s pretty generic.

Washington Redhawks also has no native connection, you can say the feathers on the R are from a Hawk. Other than that, they would have to wipe out the whole scheme in place and come up with something new ASAP...

Probably too late right now for a full logo/uniform change for this season. Probably will have to go with a modified design for this year and next year unveil a new look. I like the idea of keeping the burgundy and gold, but all new logos.

I've seen some Warriors logo's out there with the W but they were garbage. One looked like the U of W on the helmet , that's just plain to me

Warriors is so blah and generic to me. I say let's go with something that has a little more originality.

I think if they go with it, it's just a cop out to change the name asap and run with it.. I would get new gear of course but I agree I'd like something nobody else has.

Another way to look at it that sucks is , what if we have a shitty season? The newly named Washington franchise starts its new beginning with a 4-12 record... Not the fresh start we would hope for

Look,first of all,I love the team as much as anyone,but let's get away from anything Native -American as far as a new name goes-now as far as names go should be something that identifies with the city-Monuments-Federals[yes I know about the old USFL team]but that was a whole different time and league-Express-Archives...well just some ideas,I''ll be following this as I'm sure everyone else will...I just hope they don't name em anything stupid sounding.

That's why I think the Redhawks option is probably the best.

We can pretty much keep all our traditions- colors, the (tweaked) fight song, and our logo, albeit an earlier one.

We completely get away from the Native American controversy.

And we need not bother with adopting something disingenuous or USFL-sounding.

Washington Warriors is lame. What the fuck is a Warrior? That represents absolutely nothing and everything at the same time. So bland on top of being so unoriginal. There are thousands of words to choose from that aren't already being used.

The more I hear Redhawks or Redtails the more I dislike either of them too.

I'm just preparing myself to be disappointed and have a name that rather instead of actually liking, I'll just have to get used to.

Pick any name, besides Warriors, that doesn't have the word red in it. Get a fresh new name.
