Re: Trade Deadline Moves
Some people never learn. It's not a good trade at all. The guy can't catch and will want a new deal. As Matty mentioned, just draft Ridley or be patient and wait until the 19 draft. Cowboys aren't going anywhere anyway w/ Dak under center.

Re: Trade Deadline Moves
I wanted the skins to go after Cooper, but a 1 is ridiculous. A 3rd max - he's on the last year of his rookie deal. Next year you either need to do the 5th year option (~16M I believe) or renegotiate with the chance of losing him in FA.... wow. Gives the Raiders 3 1sts in the 2019 draft and 2 in 2020.
I would have liked to get Carlos Hyde for a 5th. In my opinion if we want a chance of making the playoffs this year, we need someone else at the RB position. Maybe Bibbs can be that answer. We're headed into week 8 and AP is already nursing a lot of injuries. He's playing really well, but as soon as he goes down we're out of options. Thompson shouldn't be run every down, and hasn't been a factor this year anyhow, Perine runs small... Bibbs has some potential but not sure I want him as my every down back.

Patriots gave up a 5th rounder for Josh Gordan. Why in the hell would anybody even waste a 3rd on a guy who's best attribute is being consistent about being inconsistent.

Re: Trade Deadline Moves
Cooper doesn't come with the Off-the-field issues and is younger.

Cooper has a pair of 1000yard seasons and is only 24. If he would've ended up with Brees, he would be a ProBowler. Fortunately for us, he has Dak. |

Let's look at our history of 3rd round picks (reverse chronological order): Geron Christian Fabian Monreau Kendall Fuller Matt Jones Morgan Moses Spencer Long Jordan Reed Outside Reed, Moses, and maybe Fuller (not evaluating Christian yet) - I'd take Amari over the rest. Even with inconsistency. That's why I'd be willing to give up a 3rd for a young player that has had impressive production even with a major, but fixable, flaw. I think a 1st was too much, especially with the contract costs that will come with it so I'm glad the skins didn't try to pursue, but I don't think a 3rd for Cooper is crazy. I'd definitely take Cooper over Gordon. Rather have a guy that can be on the field to catch balls rather than a constantly suspended player. The Redskins locker room also isn't as strong as the Patriots.

Re: Trade Deadline Moves
That's two days in a row a Gruden has straight fucked the Cowboys.
![]() I guess they didn't learn their lesson after Joey Galloway or Roy Williams.

Man I can't understate how thrilled I am that the Cowboys, and not us, were the ones to give up a first rounder for Cooper.

Re: Trade Deadline Moves
As others have said, better them than us. Hopefully, it works out just as well as their other trades of 1st round picks for receivers has. Really smacks of desperation to me.
Meanwhile, in other news, Oakland trades away all their starters for future draft picks. Derek Carr to Jacksonville is next.

As I was saying:
Quote:
Don't know if this is a reliable feed or a Russian bot, but it is certainly consistent with Jon Gruden's plan so far. <sarcasm font on> Oakland GM McKenzie: "This is just fine."
