Redskins Free Agent Tracker courtesy of NBC Sports Washington:
Redskins and NFL free agency tracker: News, analysis, and rumors | NBC Sports Washington I like that we are keeping Brian Quick. I'd like to see what this WR group can do with Alex Smith behind center.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Redskins are finally starting to grasp how winning organizations operate. Now they have to continue to improve at executing a draft-centric, stable process and they could actually start turning the corner. The key is successive excellent drafts while letting marginal players walk when they come up for pay hikes. All indications are that they’re finally figuring this out. We now have continuity at coaching and are valuing things like the draft and compensatory picks. It’s a small step for most franchises but a giant leap for Redskinskind...

Between Cousins, Breeland, Grant and Murphy, I would think we will be looking at 2 to 3, maybe even 4 comp picks next year. That's not a bad thing.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I just mentioned that in another thread. Yes, I think this is better for the 'skins anyway. Might be saving some money to re-sign guys like Schreff and Preston Smith.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Is Smith really deserving of a large contract? He's every bit as inconsistent as Breeland was. The guy plays great for a game, then disappears for the next 3.
We need to find a wrecking ball to go along with Allen to close out games. When Allen and Ionnidis were healthy it looked like we had something going there. If we could get Poe and draft someone I think we're in business. |

So why are you upset about Breeland leaving if you think he’s inconsistent?? Yes Smith will get a big deal because of the value placed on pass rushers. He was definitely seeing the benefits early on in the season with Allen in the lineup. Would you rather have him or Murphy? |

The way FA is set up, it's almost if better your guys like Murphy or Richardson. You're not good enough for your drafted team to pay you, but good enough to get paid on the open market. Richardson is guaranteed more money than Leveon Bell. |

Geez Louise! We're just day one into free agency. We haven't even gotten to the draft yet.

It's interesting that, other than Morgan Moses, BA didn't keep any of last draft class before SM signed on. For all the criticism BA takes, I think it says something that his first 5 picks from that draft all have lasted in the NFL AND gotten solid 2nd contracts from teams seeing additional value in them. I think that shows positive things about both our depth, and our drafting under the FO from 2014 till now. |

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
As the 2014 class departs it’s critical the next guys up can fill the void. Anderson, Moreau, Roullier, etc. It’s obvious that’s what the team is banking on.
