The only number that should matter to a player is the number of digits in his contract. Everything else should be a mute point.

The only number that should matter is the number of W's for his team

Gibbs wants blue- collar workers for his team. If Iffy proves to be one of these types, then he will play, but if he doesn't he'll probably be outta here.

The problem with the # issue is portis has put up hall of fame number's so far, and want's his carreer to identify with 1 #, which is not a horrible thing to ask, then you have Iffy, who is iffy, and may not even start, looking at portis as if the # is significant to his soon to be hall of fame carreer, as if people really identify him with that #, when he may not even start, personally if I am a player who is struggling to maybe stay in the starting lineup I don't think I want to tick people off by sticking with a # that is really insignificant to my carreer, unless Iffy feel's he has some pro bowl's in front of him, and possible hall of fame credential's, he should take the money and run. He obviously doesn't have to, but he's setting himself up for some petty sniping if he doesn't, as for taylor he has no time in the NFL with a particular #, what ever # he take's he will make synominous with his name.

I personally like Iffy more than Bowen. He has made a few big plays as a Redskins where Bowen is just another guy on the roster to me. I hope he gets some playing time in pass defense schemes and put Bowen in when we put 8 in the box to do some snot knockin'.

Since we are talking numbers...

Since we are talking numbers, why not have a simple poll vote. Which player should receive #26? I see it as Iffy's to keep or give away. His choice.

Offiss you make a valid point, but I don't think two years into a career you should be thinking about the Hall of Fame. Art Monk anyone?

I agree with you, but let's face it you know how most of these guy's are, marketability, and recognition are big thing's to them, it's the way of the high pro file player, I also do believe that the NFL like's a player to be easily identified with a certain #, they all make a lot of money on appareal right's.

Here you go... it was started right after Taylor was selected...
