Re: Media Bias

Another example of a story deliberately omitting facts or information. In this case to push for something that the President doesn't have the authority to do. They want him to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment as Virginia became the necessary 38th state to ratify the ERA a couple of years back. What the story omits is that there was a specific deadline Congress set for ratifying the amendment and that deadline expired 42 years ago. They also omit that 5 states withdrew their ratification before the deadline. They want the President to ignore the deadline and the 5 states that rescinded the ratification. It would be a massive overreach that likely would not ever be accepted by political opponents or the courts. Bottomline it would contribute to the divide in the US.

^ Oops. Won't blame CNN but it does make them look foolish. Wonder how Clarissa Ward feels about being duped and helping a likely war criminal to evade capture.

Washington Post Cartoonist Ann Telnaes Quits After Bezos-Owned Paper Kills Trump Satire Piece

Washington Post editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit after a satirical cartoon, which poked fun at the paper’s owner Jeff Bezos and other media and tech giants bending the knee to President-elect Donald Trump, was killed.

The Pulitzer Prize winner shared her decision in a Substack post Friday.

“I have had editorial feedback and productive conversations—and some differences—about cartoons I have submitted for publication, but in all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at. Until now,” she said.

Telnaes had worked at the Washington Post since 2008. She described the political cartoon that did not get published, saying it “criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump.”

I couldn’t find the cartoon she did for the Post when tech billionaires literally did the exact samething for Biden inauguration

Maybe she’s just a propagandist whose gig is up.

Re: Media Bias

“Fact checkers have been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created,” Zuckerberg said in a video announcing the new policy Tuesday. “What started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas, and it’s gone too far.”

Mark Zuckerbergs announcement is a remarkable in that it has so many quiet parts out loud: he says the election is a cultural tipping point for free speech, that the “legacy media” is the driver of censorship, and that “immigration and gender” topics will no longer be censored

Nature is healing…first X/Twitter and now Facebook/Instagram. Free Speech is always the right choice

Re: Media Bias

Unfortunately if the fact checkers weren’t politically bias they would stay on but like Zuck said, they have done more damage to online culture than to help.

Listen I’d like to have a neutral body but sources like Wikipedia, Snopes, Newsguard and PolitiFact are all liberally funded or have democrats sitting as director or in the case of Wikipedia have Soros funded partners on multiple positions on their board.

In your opinion which credible sources aren't liberally funded?

Re: Media Bias

Dana White added to their board of directors? Trump once called FB the enemy of the people.

Let’s not pretend this has anything to do with free speech.
