Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
This is a bit of a surprise. I think everyone was hoping that Beck would become Gannon Jr. And Shanahan would play his Gruden in this version. It still may happen because at this point Shanahan seems to be unpredictable but even though Gannon and Beck share the whole journeyman thing and the seeming confidence from their respective coaches-- the circumstances and experience of these quarterbacks are fairly different.

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
It's almost like Ramsey all over again. He got screwed, he never had a fair shot, etc. When in reality he just can't play.

I'll second that emphatically. He was always a long shot to be anything more than an NFL backup. Same thing with chase Daniel.

+956546747646446467467 He was f-ckin garbage, had one DECENT game and the Colt of Colt went on to proclaim him as the one that we let get away. Like I said earlier, we shouldve kept Chase Daniel, a QB who is actually still in the league. I believe he is the # QB behind Brees. Colt probably couldnt even make a Canadian League roster as a 3rd QB..... |

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
I am surprised I thought it was Beck all the way. Feel like this has the chance to be like Dayne Chryst and Tommy Reese for Notre Dame. I think I wanted Beck because of the "unknown" and I was hoping he was better than we were all thinking. Oh well we shall see, hopefully they made this decision with the goal of winning as many games this year as possible. Cant wait for sunday!

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
If Grossman can perform like he did in pre season I am all for him. But I remember his time at Chicago and his horrible ratings then. I mean to this date he has a 40/40 rating. If he does good this year then fine.. but hes not someone to build a team around for the future. Jason Campbell wasnt either. I liked ferrotte and brennan.

Two straight years, Mike Shanahan does not lie with his depth chart. You will see what he's thinking, whether or not it makes sense to you.

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
I am glad that the Skins put it out early in the week. Now I am looking forward to Eli starting the season with a 3-4 pick game, and Good Rex showing up for a 3TDs 300 yard game

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
Same here...I didn't want this to be a bit of a circus in the week before the opener. Also, as I had mentioned before, I was curious to know who was Kyle Shanahan's choice, and I wonder if this was the case. I hope there is enough talent around Rex to make him a good QB. This team needs continuity in every area, including at the QB position. Feel a bit bad for Beck, since I know this injury he had affected his ability to play, and Rex jumped on the opportunity. But hey, this happens. Now let's get this season started with a big time "W" against the G-men.

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB
Its all gonna hinge on the offensive line. .
