Re: Is locker going in the first or second?

Did Russ Lande really say that Locker could slip into the third round?

That has to be the most moronic statement I have heard so far this year from all of the so called "draft experts."

How does that clown have a job? He is an imbecile.

All it takes is one coach to be convinced that he can solve Locker's pocket awareness and quick read ability and they will pull the trigger starting in the mid to late first round.

Or take a coach like Shanahan who loves getting his QB out of the pocket? No one should be surprised if we reach on him at #10.

Locker is so damn good with regards to accuracy when he gets out of the pocket it's flat out amazing that he struggles with accuracy in the pocket.

This is the type of problem an NFL coach sees as an incredible opportunity to mold a freakish talent with all the intangibles and upside you could ask for into a star.

Locker's upside is enormous. Period.

Yes he is high risk because accuracy issues in the pocket are a real problem, but he already has several elite level skill sets.

This type of player gets drafted early. Every time.

In any sports league for that matter.

He needs to start showing some of that ability in the game... things not looking all that impressive to this point.

After scouring through all 9 teams' forums ahead of us in the Draft... NO ONE is talking about Locker. That's not due to his less than spectacular performance in the Sr Bowl, just no interest. Arizona fans, who I didn't think were trade partners, really like McNabb and Palmer. It just looks like everyone wants pass rushers. One way to negate a QB league is to put them on their collective ass. Carolina fans like Mallet, and Bills fans like Newton.

Interesting about Bills fans having their eye on Newton. Never consider him going there. Seems like a good fit.

Let me clarify. Carolina doesn't want Mallet with the FIRST but with their second. They like some guy out of Texas A&M...... Von Miller. Sorry SkinzWin.

To each his own, I suppose but I hope the Redskins start with a defensive pick.

The fans in Arizona like Kaepernik(sp?) and would like McNabb as a mentor for a couple of years. I can see their way of thinking when you consider an " over the hill QB" took them to the SB. Their 1st round savior QB never panned out.

Heck theres a good amount of fans in Arizona that think they can "develop" John Skelton. I've seen some that believe that McNabb would be a good mentor for Skelton and others who want Skelton to become the starter. Most importantly though I keep on seeing post and articles that say the Cardinals have minimal interest in McNabb. In terms of accuracy though Skelton makes McNabb look like Drew Brees.

I do not like Locker as a prospect anymore. Right now it's looking to me that if we draft him it'll simply give us a younger version of McNabb. Only difference being he'll come with comparable straight line speed to that of Michael Vick.

I can't understand why most fans of Locker make excuses for his play. It seems as if there is a conspiracy out there that these fans subscribe to that says that the draft world wants to ban Locker from being selected in the first two rounds. Some call the Senior Bowl nothing but a scrimmage and not to be taken seriously. Others concede Lockers deficiencies but think that his bad habits are correctable by the right coach.

Let's take the pressure off of Locker's shoulders and let him become the project that he is. My hope is that the Redskins stay away from him. There are better accomplished draftable QBs out there if you really want one.

Other QBs with Michael Vick attributes are Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick.

Cam Newton Stats: 188.2 QB Rating, 2589 yds, 28 TD, 6 INT, 65.2 cmp%. With a passer rating of just .6 behind the nation's best. I want a pass rushing freak, but won't be terribly upset with a pick of Cam.

Re: Is locker going in the first or second?

Remember though Newton had one good season only. My question is will it last. Locker has also been ify in my mind this year not sure. Ponder to me would be awesome because of his experience. Even an Andy Dalton. These guys rock cause its not the fricken first pick we have to get them. I also hope Mcnaab and Haynesworth get traded for picks. Portis is an ify trade in my mind cause he is so good at pass protection. But picks would be nice.....

If Locker falls to the second we should definately take him. Keep McNabb and let him become Kyle's project.
