Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
Yes the all important game one win is in the books!! A great swarming defensive effort won the game for the Lakers and now for game 2 on Sunday.

Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
The series is 1-0, a long way from being over. A lot of Lakers, mainly the bench played out of their ass. Even down 0-2 the Celtics are still in it with the weird 2-3-2 series schedule.
To lay your hopes on historical facts like Phil wins every series that he wins game one of is lame. The big three have never lost a series does that make me confident they will win this series no it is just some dumb stat that ABC/ESPN keep throwing out to hype the series. My predication: Game one: Lakers Two: Lakers Three: Celtics Four: Celtics Five: Lakers Six: Lakers Unless Garnet starts showing up this series is over but I enjoyed the run! Probably the last run for the Celtics for many years. =(

Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
It's Game 1. The naysayers were out when Lebron exploded in Game 3 of the Celtics/Cavs series. They came out again when the Magic won a couple. Let's see what happens Sunday and hopefully the refs let them play. A tightly officiated series favors a finesse team.
Phil 47-0, Big 3 never lost a series, that all means squat right now.

I will tell you why it is not over because the WWE/NBA won't allow a sweep they need a big series here to keep interest level up on the WWE/NBA. Even when the Celtics won it in 2008 I was excited but my excitement was tapered by the fact that there seems to be a very unreal feeling about this league.

Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
A tough loss and my hats off to an insane game by Allen. now it goes to Boston but I'm confident the lakers can get 2 out of the 3 there. I just hope the refs start letting the 2 teams actually play without calling a foul on either team on what feels like every other possesion. There have been over 110 fouls called against the 2 teams combined which means a bit more than one called for every minute of play so far. That's ridiculous and is keeping us from seeing the best players on the court as much as we should be.

Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
You can't rely on that shooting from Allen or anyone every game. This was only the speedbump expected on the way to the game 6 win.

Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
The Celtics looked very good last night and I think Rondo was more of a dagger then Allen to the Lakers.
The fouls are just plain ruining this series IMO. Anywho, GO CELTICS!!!!

I be happy to bet you that the Lakers will not win 3 straight in Boston. This series will go seven games, not saying the Celtics are going to win it but to think last nights performance sealed the deal for the Lakers is foolish. Let me also point again Kobe didn't show up in crunch time. You can thank Fischer for last nights win.
