Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall

Everybody is so down on Hall, but if we could pick him up at a fairly reasonable price he would be a great addition. Shawn Springs is getting older and Hall could be a replacement if Smoot isn't already. Rodgers/Smoot/Hall/Springs would be a secondary to be reckoned with. Just have him play in zone schemes instead of man-to-man.

I'm liking the way the Raiders think; bad for them, good for everybody else!

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall

maybe hall just got tired of all the bullshit he has had to take the last two years.
his coach quit on him in atlanta,he lost a good friend, and then he got caught in all that shit in oakland.if we can sign him at a good price, why not?you never know how long spring's calf is gonna hold out.javon walker would be a great pick up too.

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall

Maybe we could sign Hall by telling him that we actually have a team with a stable coaching staff and we can surround him with players that can actually hold up their end of the bargain. Oakland signed him thinking that he would solve all their problems. If the Skins' were to sign him, he could have peace at mind knowing the entire secondary doesn't rely on him to do THEIR job. At the right price, Hall would be a freakin steal!

They better not sign Hall. He really isn't that good and he has horrible character. I'll pass.

How do you know he has a horrible character? Oakland is just a horrible situation right now. He would be a great fit for us; allow Springs to play more physical and have Hall play zone overtop, or any other combinations we could use him at. In Oakland people exploited his weakness in man coverage, so as long as we could sign him for a fair price, NOT OVERPAY HIM, we could definately throw him in our zone schemes and use him to our advantage.

Those are good points about Hall. Seeing your close friend get locked up and disgraced, having your head coach quit mid season, and then landing smack dab in the shittiest organization in sports can set you back mentally. Prior to '07 he had consecutive pro-bowl seasons in '05 and '06. Springs is great when healthy but can't stay that way and is in the twilight of his career, Smoot is best suited as a nickel, and Rogers is turning into an elite corner.

If Hall could be had for a cheap price, it may be worth a gamble for a chance at a having a nasty corner tandem for years to come. Trust me, as strong and veteran as our locker room is, one man ain't gonna tear it down.

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall

Ehhh im divided on this one. I wouldnt mind bringing him im for a good price, because i think with our coaches we can make him play to his talent level. But on the other hand he has had character issues. So if we do bring him in, we should have some kink in his contract that says if he does something bad or gets in trouble that he be released or paid a different amount of money..sort of like an incentive..
