Orakpo was lazy in college, and unfortunately it translated to the pros. If only that guy gave 90% he'd be getting 15 sacks a year.

He's a great player, in fact our best player.. but lazy.

Re: Zorn Fired

In IR's defense though, he did a post a link with video of Orakpo's draft day where Mayock says one concern Mayock has about Orakpo is that he doesn't always give 100% effort. So while I don't really agree with IR or Mayock here, I'm not going to knock either for their opinion

I feel like it is a bit of a stretch to deduce Orakpo is lazy on the account of a 5 second comment Mayock made that stated that he didn't always give 100% effort. If that's the only evidence he has to back up his claim he may as well make that same statement about two thirds of the entire NFL. Mayock says a lot of people around the league have said this. What other people? I haven't heard this disucssion about Orakpo being explosive only about 80% of the time, and not playing that hard the rest of the snaps.

Re: Zorn Fired

I'm guessing "lack of effort" can be subtle and one would have to watch the many Texas games Rak was in to get a clear picture of what exactly is meant by "lack of effort".

If Rak learned how to use his arms and hands he probably couldn't be stopped

And bending. When you turn the corner very low to the ground, it is harder for them to hold you.

Hopefully he's working on these things as we speak.

Someone should send him a twitter message to nab some Freeney and Mathais film from the Colts' not-so-secret archives.

There was this too

Inside The Bills | Is Orakpo criticism a smoke screen? «

But whatever, if there was an issue before I don't see it now with Orakpo and I think we'd all agree we're happy he's on our team

Re: Zorn Fired

This says that team brass approached him & tried to get him to resign in midseason. It was discussed here at length & many columnists speculated w/good reason that the hiring of Sherm Lewis was an attempt to get him out, but this makes it sound definitive that he was asked to quit.

Does Zorn make the jump to media analyst? Is he capable of that?
