Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

Zorn can adjust his playcalling for more intermediate and deep routes to take advantage of his strengths. However, he needs an OL that hold their blocks long enough let these plays develop because not every fricking pass has the QB throwing immediately to the first read at the end of the dropback, and oftentimes, that's all Campbell could do last year.

Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

This is our chance to dump Campbell.... Cassel went down in KC.. Trade campbell for a 3rd round pick.. and it opens the door for Chase or Colt

Maybe at this point he is trying to say they would be desperate.

They still have Thigpen, who many expected to be their starter after last season. I doubt they are looking for anyone...

Unless Colt became available that is

LOL, Even Ive been easy on ol JC this week. I thought he played well but im not drinkin the Kool Aid at this point. JC has always had consistancy issues. Do well vs a good defense one week and then he'd struggle vs a bad defense the next. I think he is done for the preseason so now we just have to wait and see how he does in week 1.

Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

Im sure teams out there would take either one. NE,DEN,KC and SF all seem to be lacking at the QB position. Starter or backup.

And I'm sure they would too - off waivers. Much as the Cult would like to disagree, QB's like Colt are a dime a dozen. You need a 3rd string QB? There are tons - young and old - who would fit right in. Neither Colt nor Chase are QB's a team would feel comfortable turning to if the starter goes down. Maybe one or both will get there in a couple years. Seriously, Jordan Palmer is now Cinci's developmental QB.

Colt and Chase are replaceable and probably interchangable parts.

I think few people, aside from fans, would argue that Campbell is being forced on Zorn. All reports indicate that Zorn wanted to stick by Campbell, but the front office was trying to replace Campbell with either Sanchez or Cutler (as you noted). So, if anything, the front office was trying to force Zorn to coach a different quarterback.

I realize that doesn't comport with the fans' sense that there is a conspiracy against Colt Brennan to keep him from starting. However, the simple fact is this front office has demonstrated that it is not in love with Campbell and, right now, he's the best QB on the roster.

Im sure Zorn had a say in tha trade matter, in the end a HC is going to try to win instead of being loyal to one player. He knows his job is on the line so id have to say he was on board with the offseason moves. or attempts.

He was in the meeting when the Cutler sweepstakes started, he was at the dinner with Sanchez. --i heard--

Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

And BTW - New England is "lacking at the QB position. Starter or backup." ???

Let see - Tom Brady straight up for Colt Brennan. I think I would take that deal.

Brady is Brady but behind him there are serious concerns. I didnt mean Brady is worse. some of the teams i named -SF- are hurting at the starter spot, some are hurting at the backup spot -NE.

Just so we're clear on Colt's value (or Chase's for that matter), here's an article on NE's backup situation. They mention several back-up possibilities including such luminaries as Tyler Thigpen, AJ Feeley, Damon Huard and Cleo Lemon (Seriously? Cleo Lemon???). Strangely, despite seeing him play Friday night, Colt is not among those named. Patriots pull plug on backup Kevin O'Connell - BostonHerald.com

If Colt is cut by the Skins, my bet is he is not on an NFL roster this year.
