I am a VT fan and I was beside myself when they lost to KU. How far could a school like KU have gone in a playoff system. Nobody gave them a chance to beat VT. I sure as the hell didn't. All of these upsets have proven that a playoff is becomming more and more necessary. That's all. Congrats to LSU. |

Re: Lsu! Lsu! Lsu!
i think everyone but the college admins want a playoff. they're too busy counting money to worry about public opinion or integrity of the game though.
seriously, a 6-5 team should NOT be able to advertise that it won a bowl game and had a great season... at one point being in a bowl actually meant your team was good. |

![]() Yes, you are correct, they aer killing the game. An 8 game playoff system has been suggested, and they should take it. It would be a great solution to a terrible system. It would likely create even MORE money. You can still keep all the stupid bowl games, just those top 8 teams into the playoffs and call them "bowl games" too. The money and the game can co-exist.

Re: Lsu! Lsu! Lsu!
8 teams means 7 games total for the bracket. Call it the BCS Championship Tourney. Have the first round be home games for the upper ranked teams, then the last 4 go to a neutral site, rotated between the Rose, Orange, Sugar and Fiesta like it's done now.
Then have the other 12 BCS teams play in the top 6 bowl games (Rose, Cotton, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, Outback, Gator, where the Last 4 site does not have a bowl game; for instance, this year the Sugar Bowl wouldn't have a game because it would have hosted the Semis and Championship game) keeping traditions as close to the same as possible (Rose is Big 10 v Pac 10, Orange is ACC v. Big East, etc.), and then bowl games on down the line. If the bowl and BCS committees get their heads out of their asses, they would realize that by implementing a tournament, they can make even more money. But whatever. Until then, we'll have a BCS Champion, but not know who truly is the best team in the nation.
