Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
We have 2 previous QB's in TE's Thomas and Rogers. I want to see some trick passes from those guys, get creative.

Texans Pre-Game Thread

Of course. But there is also a reason he plays TE now and Id rather see him return to being an offensive weapon at TE than start running trick plays as a qb Im not opposed to SF’s idea of running some sort of play with Logan taking a snap but Logan was a damn good pass catching TE before his injury and I would love to get him more involved there. |

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
If you saw Terry interview with Van Pelt you'd also say no way in hell Carson plays another down unless TH gets injured or is THAT bad. And I agree with Terry. That was an emotional fucking interview.

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
The conditional 2023 pick is reason enough to keep playing Taylor. He would really have to play extremely awful for Wentz to get back in there any time soon.

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
If Ron is just trying to get whatever advantage comes with keeping the starter up in the air for the Texans, fine.
But if he's seriously considering going back to Wentz come on man! Gotta stick with the hot hand, it's a no brainer to keep TH in there. |

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
They won't go back to Wentz. Unless TH has like 3 picks this week

Totally. Also Taylor would have to get hurt or screw up real bad to come out. I think if he starts the next couple games that the chances of Carson accounting for 70 percent of the snaps at qb are almost impossible and it would keep our conditional 2023 a third instead of a second. Not saying they will hold Carson out simply to keep the second but it is definitely in the minds of the decision makers. |

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
Only saw 1st half of Texans-Eagles MNF game so i dont know much about them
record 1-7-1 with W vs Jags in a 13-6 win. Offensively: Scored 20 pts 3 times, 24 once .. rest is below 20 Last 3 games they played NYG tough last week (24-16), Phi (29-17 tied at half), Titans (17-10). QB Davis Mills has started every game, has 1,975 yds through 9 games. 11 tds, 9 int, 23 sacks. RB Dameaon Pierce (rookie 4R - Florida) seems to be the offensive feature, 165 carries 772 yds 4.7 avg. Know nothing about him but 4.7 when teams know you are going to run ball and cant throw? impressive Gibson/Robinson combine for 196 carries, 677 yds and a 3.4 ish avg Texans 28th in yds/g w 301.2 Manders 24th w 324.1 Texans 27th in pts/g w 16.6 Manders 23rd w 19.1 ---------------------------------- I havent looked at their D yet ... but their offensive numbers mirror ours. Mills rating is within a pt of Wentz/heinike, all 3 have 62% completion Im a bit worried. We are going to play a team that does the same things we do. I gotta look at the D ... but the over/under on this game must be like 29.5 |

Re: Texans Pre-Game Thread
"The Texans’ first-half strategies in the passing game led by second-year quarterback Davis Mills have become an issue for Houston in the Texans’ last three losses to the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants. Mills has averaged 4.7 yards passing in the first half of the last three games and has been held to under 40 yards in the first and second quarters in two of those contests (Titans-17, Giants-35). "
Houston’s defense has given up 93 first-half points in nine games, averaging 10.3 points per game. They have held opponents to 14 points or less in eight of those games, but during those first nine contests, the Texans’ offense has only been able to score 73 points which is good for an average of just over eight points per game. Inefficient first halves plague Texans with Davis Mills under center (usatoday.com) Apparently the Texans are a slow bad 1st half team ... take the under first half might be the play |
