Re: Best Offseason
Moss isn't ripping NE's locker room apart. They have too many strong vets. He needs them more than they need him. They got Stallworth, A. Thomas and Walker. Plus Chad Jackson hasn't even got in the mix.

Re: Best Offseason
If Moss does cause problems, Belichick can cut him. . . . The genius of Belichick/Pioli is that all of their offseason signing brought minimal risk to the team. Moss can get cut at any time with no financial penalty for the Pats. Stallworth has the equivalent of a 1 year, $3M contract. The only "big money" signing was Adalius Thomas, a perfect fit for the Pats' defensive system.
Big contrast with the moron twins (Snyder and Cerrato). But, then again, that's why the Pats are perennial winners, and Washington is not. |

Re: Best Offseason
If you look at the world through burgandy and gold colored glases, then the Skins had the best offseason in the league - - and maybe in the history of all of football too. Except maybe for that great offseason when they signed Deion Sanders ...
Otherwise you have to appreciate what the Patriots did this year; and you have to appreciate what the Broncos did this year; and you have to appreciate what the Eagles did this year. And if one were to take off the burgandy and rose colored glasses for just a brief moment and look at those three teams, you'd also notice that they are starting from a far higher level of achievement than the Redskins are. I think that the Redskins did a whole lot better in the 06/07 offseason than they did in previous ones - - particularly the highly hyped but hugely disappointing 05/06 offseason. But the Skins didn't do the "best in the league". And there are still "areas of concern" on this roster. And the Skins are not shoo-ins to make it to the Super Bowl in 2008. If you believe they are shoo-ins for the Super Bowl as the NFC representative, go and bet the mortgage money on that proposition in Las Vegas right now. You can get 20-1 at the moment that the Skins will be in the Super Bowl game - - not that they'll win it but they'll be there. Put a cool 50K on that prop and you'll be a millionaire in less than a year... Or not. I'll not make that wager just yet. I'll wait to see what the "product" looks like on the field for the first 4-6 games. But if you REALLY think there are no weak spots on this roster, go for it. And Mazel Tov!!

Re: Best Offseason
I think they had an overhyped offseason. Sure it was good, but Cleveland had the best IMO.
Joe Thomas (drafted) Brady Quinn (drafted) Jamaal Lewis Seth McKinney Eric Steinbach Robaire Smith Tim Carter (upgrade from Northcutt) Mike Adams Not only did they fill holes, they filled those holes with top notch talent for the most part. That is hands down the best offseason the Browns have EVER had, and hands down the best this year.

Re: Best Offseason
I like the fact that we were not headlining the offseason, which we typically do. Lets see if the solid improvements we made produce post season results, instead of preseason championships.

Re: Best Offseason
It's hard to see how we have had a great off-season. We still have a question mark at every DL spot, did nothing to improve our OL or skill positions on offense. We probably improved at safety and MLB but have question marks at weakside LB and a guy at strongside getting a little older. Maybe Springs will last at CB and Smoot is still a guy who can help (Who knows?)."
If both are zip (which is more than possible), we're looking at a group of barely adequate CB's. Unless Campbell's as great as he might be and Lloyd improves drastically, we'll be fighting to finish 8 and 8. |

Re: Best Offseason
I am really surprised that I am the only person that thinks Cleveland had a great offseason.
