Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Eagles say no to Landry. (relief)
https://twitter.com/#!/Jeff_McLane/s...98934357901313 LaRon Landry - Washington Redskins - 2012 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com Not that I think he'd actually suit up and play significant time for them, I just did not want to see him in green and black. (horrible uniforms by the way)

The Laron Landry that I saw play for the last 4 seasons in Washington was terrible in coverage and was beaten deep far too often. He would make one or two highlight reel hits but also give up a TD or two and a bunch of first down catches per game. That is not my definition of a guy "balling his ass off"...

I find it funny when old people use the younger gen's slang. Also did you read my entire post? I get the feeling if you had you probably wouldn't accuse me of saying Landry was a baller his entire time here.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
So I haven't really been keeping up with the Landry news. What chance do we all think Landry has of resigning with the skins? And if that percentage is low, do we have a backup plan at safety?

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Low, unless no one else wants to roll the dice on his Achilles and he comes back cheaper just to stay in the league.
The Jets, Bears, Lions are interested from what I've heard. Philly was but seems to have bowed out. Right now, we have one FS and one SS on the roster under contract. DeJon Gomes and Reed Doughty. I expect we'll move Kevin Barnes to FS, probably more out of necessity than preference but he did play great there when he had to fill in. We're bringing Brandon Meriweather (nothing special) in for a visit but right now we basically have no depth at safety. I like Gomes, he played well last year and Barnes is better at safety than CB. Doughty, he's basically a body on the field. Occasionally makes good plays but they get canceled out. Seems like we can't get rid of him. Wonder what Chris Horton is up to these days> Phone call?

I don't see anyone kicking down his door. I think we have a decent chance at bringing him back. The FO is smart in letting him see what's out there.

Safety Brandon Meriweather visiting Redskins Wednesday - The Insider - The Washington Post
The Redskins are having safety Brandon Meriweather come in for a visit today. Hopefully, they will sign him to a deal in order to fill a pressing need @ strong safety. |

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
After looking at that dreadful Patriot defense all last year, they must make upgrades. If they sign Landry, it would be good for him to go into a consistent winning organization and contribute. Hopefully, if they strike a deal, Landry can stay healthy.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Landry does not know it, but he's a masochist whose career is going to go the route of Bob Sanders circa now because he likes neglecting that Achilles of his.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
My enduring memory of Landry will be of him taking shit from a Seahags fan the whole game last season (I was sat one row behind the Redskins bench) and at the end he came over and chatted to him 'politely', blew him kisses etc. also joined by Rex and a couple of others.
Hilarious. |

I'll miss LL, I wanted him to take over after Sean, he had a great playoff game in Seattle and he was a very good player for us.. the hit on Robinson in Dallas this year was vintage LL
