Im not saying we dont fire Haslett at end of season, but gotta give the guy credit. The defense is playing better with limited talent.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
The second half was a lot better but the Giants have been playing like that the entire year. Inconsistent. Awful one week or play like they are the greatest team in the NFL. Like the Tampa Bay game. Awful one half great the next, Cincinnati they looked awful but then they crush the Packers. They score 16 on philly and lose the game and then beat down the 49ers. Defense did a good job for one half, I just would not get too excited and think now we have a capable defense.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
one of the most crazy games ever was an Indy - Miami game. Miami's TOP was like 45 minutes. Therefore they must have won, right? nope because Every time Manning had the ball he scored(usually quickly). I see our offense getting to that point. We need to clean up some penalties, and reduce a few mental errors, but had we been down 7 instead of up 1, that 4 minute drive would have been different, and we could likely have scored, certainly if they were up 2, we were in position to kick a fg.
Lets see how we do coming off a 3 week win streak against division rivals. If we are getting where we want to be, this game won't be close. |

Since the bye the D has shown some signs of improvement. Can't just slam Haslett all the time when the D is playing bad and not acknowledge him when the D is playing better. I'm not a big fan of him but he deserves some credit right now.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Haslett is not the problem. I've always sighted the secondary coach as the problem. The Redskins have done better in defense somewhat but they are still giving up long pass plays. That 49 yard pass from Manning to Cruz the other night is a prime example. Another time the secondary was beat was in the first quarter when Manning overthrew Cruz straight down the middle of the field. Madieu Williams had allowed Cruz to get past him like in the first game. This recurring problem has been going on since week 2 when they started playing that sissy soft zone crap.

No one has said don't fire Haslett. Just giving him some props for finally realizing when you don't have great personell you have to scheme more to get results. The second half looked a whole lot better than the first. There's some jumpy damn people around here considering we're on a 3 game NFC East asskicking streak.

If John Beck were still our QB, we would win every game by 75 points. The entire current FO should be fired for not recognizing this.

I can sense sarcasm when I see it. Don't be hating on Beck. If it wasn't for Kyle Shanahan Beck would be a Superstar by now.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Secondary issues lie more with lack of talent/injuries. Morris isn't a miracle worker.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Yeah we're really playing with very little talent in the secondary. You can't coach talent into someone.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
if you thought the giants LOST that one, which ones have we actually won then? the eagles game because we won by a bunch of points? you could easily say, well the eagles lost it because of injuries.
football (and sports in general) is a game of give-and-take, it wasnt the fact that the giants just played the shittiest game ever. hell, people are saying the steelers dominated us and are forgetting we had about 12900192380239 dropped passes.

That's the way football is. In the first game against the NYG back in week 7, the Redskins had 4 turnovers that contributed more to the Giants win than that 77 yard TD strike from Eli Manning to Victor Cruz did. The NYG had a lot of penalties this last game but turnovers and penalties are a part of the game of football. |
