I dont see how Hightower is not the starter. Personally blown away by how great he has been in this system. Damn, Shanny really showing off his ability to get solid RBs once again that excel in his system. That freakin cut back last night got me off the couch last nite night spilling my West Coast IPA in the process. See SS, when I name drop, its good beers name dropping

Interesting call. Real long shot on starting over Hightower though.

I would like to see Torain make the 53 man roster simply because he has demonstrated he can be productive. However, as we all know, the I-bug has been his constant companion and he's not versatile enough as a back-up RB with no ST's abilities. If he's not the starter, with the addition of Hightower he faces an uphill battle.

Kyle Shanahan to SI regarding Tim Hightower:

He’s a violent runner. He runs as hard as he can, gets to the line of scrimmage, and presses his cuts. And when he puts his foot down, it’s violent, and he’s getting downhill. He always gets tackled with his shoulders going north. He’s exactly what we look for in this offense… On grass with us, I think he can be an every-down back. Because he’s definitely a first- and second-down runner, and he also has good hands, and he’s fearless when it comes to blocking. He understands our pass schemes and he’s got a chance to be a guy who doesn’t come off the field. It might take a while for him to make the transition to us, but it’s always going to be a faster transition when you’ve got a guy who doesn’t flinch. He’s not scared to put his face into anyone, and he’s smart and he works at it. I think he’ll be able to do it.

We have depth and youth, and that's all that matters. Give all of them carries, so you have fresh legs at the end of games and at the end of the season. It's a RB by committee league these days. Hightower, Helu and Torrain have all shown they're capable.

I really think Torain is seriously on the bubble.

He might be. He'll need to play this week. If he does not play against the Ravens, and show what he can do further, he might be gone.

I think our best option is to have Hightower/Torrain/Helu going into the season... but if you can't stay healthy, you can't make the team...

Yeah, I could see that rotation... with Royster on the PS.

Is it really that crazy? Torain as we know is hurt, again. Royster is basically the same kind of back.

Not saying it's going to happen, but it wouldn't shock me.

By the way, does anyone else think Beck is really akward when he's doing draws? He had at least two or three yesterday that just looked really weird.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.

I don't think Torain will play at all this preseason. There was some speculation that he may silt out until the bye week. Not sure though. Mike absolutely loves him though,

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.

Think the Cards are kicking themselves today over that trade? I mean Vonnie was a good guy but from a production standpoint I am not sure what they were thinking in the first place. Now they've gone from an abundance of talent to scrounging the free agent pool and waiver wire.

Yeah, the screws will probably stay in there until after the season.
