Even not considering the trade, the RG3 pick was an all-time bust.

It cannot be an all time bust because he led us, almost single handily, to a division crown. You can never take that away.
Yes though when you consider what it cost us, and what he has done since - it was certainly a bust.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

Players I have watched that I want at some point in the draft (I realize at least two out of the three are very unlikely):

1. Dalvin Cook, FSU
2. Solomon Thomas, Stanford
3. Demarcus Walker, FSU

Cook may be there but we need Defense man, he is a guy that I'd love to have but it'll also depend on FA

If we could get Cook in the first and Walker in the second, I would take that.

I know we need defense (desperately), but our red zone efficiency (and offense in general) improves 5x with Dalvin.

Cook had 6 fumbles this year.... he is good, but we need defense

The defensive talent in the first round looks good so far. I also believe we need to go defense in the first round. I think we could still pick up a decent RB in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Maybe a Perine, Gallman, Foreman, or Conner.

We are not taking a RB in the first round.
And I've had enough of RBs that fumble.

Dalvin Cook is the best player in the draft. If he's there at 17, I'd jump all over him.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

With the holes they made for Kelley, even Cook couldn't find extra room. In fact, I imagine he'd find less since he's not as physical.

If we are looking for a good RB for later Rds, we could always look at Matt Dayes from NC State, as a Wolfpack fan, this may be somewhat a homer pick, but I think he has the potential to be a great NFL back.....first Rds need to focus completely on defense!

I definitely watch a lot of ACC football too and if we're going to poach a back in the later rounds: James Conner. Dude is an absolute monster.

if Connor passes a thorough physical, I would consider him in the 5th round.... even if you use him solely in short yardage / goal line situations he would be very valuable

I can see 2 RBs being drafted

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

He runs REALLY upright like Eddie George, but I haven't seen a more physical back in a long time.
