Jim Haslett was a good linebacker for Buffalo in his day. So was Ron Rivera for the Bears. Dan Reeves was good QB way back in the day did pretty good as HC of Denver. There are some that have excelled at both levels.

Re: Who Stays; Who Goes? Defense

I was going to do this later this week so thanks for doing the heavy lifting for me! :-)

Gone on the DL: Balmer, Scott, Worthington, Golston, Baker

Gone from the LB: McIntosh, quitter, loser. No respect for his antics before the final game.

Gone from the CB: Barnes, yet another Cerrato whiff. Buchanon, just another guy who can be replaced.

Gone from S: Please let it be Doughty. He's awful, takes terrible angles, brings nothing to the defense. Landry I'm 50:50 on, Atogwe is probably one and done in DC. I think his legs are gone.

The defense is improved from last year but I think they hit the wall in December from being on the field so much and not getting any relief from the offense.

Re: Who Stays; Who Goes? Defense

I'd be really surprised if London Fletcher was not re-signed. He has to be. He's the leader of the entire team.

I was a little harsh on LaRon Landry earlier in the year. But I'm hoping he finally makes a complete recovery and be apart of the Redskins in the future.

If John Beck isn't traded, then he'll be released. The Redskins will draft a QB and sign a veteran QB in free agency. I like the savvy of Rex Grossman, but he's a backup if anything. He's nothing more than that.

Rocky McIntosh has been a good Redskins since his rookie year of 2006. But it's time to part ways with him. He can still be effective in the NFL, just not with the Redskins. Perry Riley played too well for the coaches to bring McIntosh back.

He's like Magic Johnson, not capable of teaching what he can do. He spent a spring "coaching" Justin Tryon. How's that working out?
I think this sums up why I wouldn't want Green coaching our secondary. I don't think he would be an effective communicator to his guys, simply because his own experiences were a combo of unique talent and hard work. He wouldn't be working with a group of guys as talented as he was, and I don't think he can effectively communicate with his players the way a successful coach needs to.

he's also not a people person. he likes himself, and he's not too concerned about other people from what i've heard.

Re: Who Stays; Who Goes? Defense

It really disgusts me that people seem to hate Doughty so much, the guy clearly shows nothing but heart out there on the field. I realize he should never line up at FS, but he is definitely one of those guys every team should have...someone that does whatever is asked of him and gives 150%.

As far as the question at hand, Golston has worn out his welcome, along with Rocky, Buchanon, and Barnes are the only for sure guys that need to go.

"Brian Orakpo: stays, unless we get a super awesome trade offer as outlined in other threads"

if this happens, I seriously will have second thoughts of acknowledging this organization as a legit NFL franchise. I am absolutely dumbfounded why this is even discussed or even thought of as a possible scenario. I will have serious reservations about rooting for this team if it gives away a possible serious playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. This guy commands respect from the offensive coord, and you have to account for him when he is on the field. Stupid to even think about it to be honest.

There's a good reason that fans are not front office personnel. Some of the 'trade speculation' put out on these boards is example #1.

I didn't mean that in the sense that I'd be happy to trade him. I'm fine with keeping him, because 2 pass rushers is wayyyy better than one, obviously. Even if one pass rusher only has one move that doesn't work against everybody. I meant it in the "trade offer from your wildest dreams" sense.

The front 7 is fine, but the secondary needs some serious work.

Really, you think Adam Carriker is gone? Surely, he stays in my opinion.

I'll say it's a 50/50 and depends on training camp really and Jenkins health.

It won't get that far. He is a FA which will start two months before any camp.

The problem is he has been a starter and will want starter money, but for us he will end up being more of role player b/c of Jenkins.

I think he would like to stay all else being equal, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone offers him more money such as the dolphins, jets, and GB who all run 3-4 and could use some pass rush help.
