Re: Bungles owner does not plan to trade Carson Palmer

Scratch that what I said earlier about offering Mike Brown a 1st and 3rd. Vinny has set the record straight once and for all. That idiot offered Brown TWO #1 picks for Ocho.

The Redskins once offered two No. 1 picks for Chad Ochocinco - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Quote:
“I mean, I was part of trying to trade for Chad Ochocinco, and when they said no, they meant no. And Marvin [Lewis] would have done it. Two No. 1s, that’s exactly what it was. And I talked to Katie Blackburn’s husband all the time, and he just said listen. I talked to him at the owners’ meetings, and I called him. He said no is no, quit calling, we’re not trading him...
I remember Ocho was over the age of 30 at the time, and this clown offered two No. 1s for him. How this clown still gets interviews is beyond me. How Mike Brown still is able to walk around Cincinnati is beyond me. They should run that guy out of town for turning down that for Ocho. I'm glad they saved us from ourselves. Much like the Bears did with Briggs.

I don't know why he's saying that now, because it wasn't two no. 1's. And I know that's not what he said two years ago, or however long ago it was.

Oh well, in the past now.

Can you pull some strings at your work to make sure this clown never gets anymore airtime ever again? I'll even pay...lol

On the flip side, Brown is holding a hard line cause if he lets Palmer go then it could open the flood gates. At this point I'm not even sure Palmer would command a lot of draft picks.

You know what's going to happen: We'll trade a 2nd for Palmer, he'll flop here while his kid brother Jordan (a former Redskin) will lead the Bengals back to glory

Seriously though, I find it so curious that Jordan Palmer is penciled in as the Bengals starter right now and could be (if Carson leaves) taking over for his brother who wants out of there so badly. Must be a fun conversation at the family dinner table

Re: Bungles owner does not plan to trade Carson Palmer

The thing that Palmer said that kinda surprised me was him talking about just how bad and delapidated (did I spell that right FD?) conditions of their facilities. I forgot he's exact words now but a mental picture of that fly infested tub of water the coach in waterboy was serving to his players came to mind.

I figured there would be a small quality difference in facilities from team to team in the NFL but the way he described it . . it sounded like a poorly funded HS team.

I cant really blame him, hes been there for awhile and while he was paid well for his services, at some point he has to value the chance of winning more than pay checks.

I like it, the guy wants to win or atleast play on a team that takes winning seriously.

Would that ochocinco trade meant we wouldnt have had the pick to get orakpo? Thank gosh that didnt go down.

Re: Bungles owner does not plan to trade Carson Palmer

The Bengals facilities are known for being among the worst in pro sports. But one of Marvin Lewis' conditions to return was improved facilities, including I believe an indoor practice facility.

But honestly, the Redskins facilities haven't been all that great either. Though far better than the Bengals from what I've heard. Allen has led major improvements to the facilities starting with the weight room
