Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE NED
Defensive Ned? Sounds like a good name for a comic strip. I picture some dorky or unfortunate looking fellow (perhaps the 80's guy holding the disc in 70Chip's favorite picture) all defensive about his appearance. LOL

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE NED
Please. Kenard Lang wipes the floor with Renaldo Wynn. Remember that season where Kenard had 30 sacks.

I'll be voting for Charles Mann.

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Who is Gene Brito? Oh, he played in 51-53 and 55-58. I wasn't even born. Did they have television, because I haven't seen a highlight or mention of him before. I think it is a no-brainer, Charles Mann, maybe Dexter Manley.

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Mann was (is) the man.
Dexter was my favorite player for years. Despite some inconsistency & not that stout vs. run, he gave the d a spark & touch of flamboyance to an otherwise quiet group. |

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
No love for Ron McDole. 12 interceptions! What linemen would get that now? Or what about our very own Tony McGee
![]() Anyhow, Mann was no slouch as a pass rusher either, 80+ sacks in his career

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Dexter Manley and Charles Mann was the best pair of Washington Redskin defensive ends. Maybe the best defensive end pair of all time.

Osi and Strahan would beg to differ with that. But they were good.

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
They......flat-assed scared offenses. Manley had a way of whipping the Defense into a frenzy. It became like a swarming....Juggernaut

Dexter Manley. He was the one other teams feared most.
Charles Mann was also an outstanding DE. |

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Its really close between Mann and Manley. Charles is a class act and Dexter had his drug addiction and prison. I would have to with total body of work with Charles Mann.
Didn't Deacon Jones and Coy Bacon play for the Redskins back in the day?

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Dexter won? Wow. I mean, I did vote for him and made a tiny case for him on the thread, but I thought Mann was the direction most were going in--in fact, he seemed to have a good lead on Dexter when I voted.
Atta boy, Dexter. |

Re: Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE END
Just watched the '87 and the '91 skins on NFL network. Both great shows. They said Mann had a 28" waist. The man looked lean, but WOW!
