Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
I would go with:
1. Orakpo 2. Smith 3. Maualuga We need to get younger at the DE spot (Daniels, Wynn???) We also need some serious help at the LB position Smith would be nice to add to a aging off. line. NO SANCHEZ NO NO NO NO...

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
None I would try to look into dropping back in the draft for more picks. but if that option was not available I would take the best OT on the board. My choices:
1. OT-best available 2. LB 3. DE We had the 4th ranked defense in the league last yr and with AH I can see us being better. Our offense was stagnant. I just don't see how we can go over looking that fact and pick a defensive player. but reason is not utilized in Cerrato's picking process. Best available player is. I can see us moving up to get Sanchez.

For those of you thinking about going after Sanchez, Matt Bowen brings up some pretty good points.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
He should! When we play the cowboys, Eagles and Giants they will have a hell of a D-line (actually, 2 starting type D-lines) and we need to bulk on the OL especially up the middle to negate the rushers coming from the outside.

I am open to Sanchez at #13. I think the real issue is whether or not the Redskins have an open mind to JC being the QB beyond next year. If they do then I want to stick with him, but if they don't it may be a good idea to just move on now rather then spend another year trying to coach him up.

So after that one game he became a sure-fire first rounder, and over the past few months he's now become a possibly top 5 pick? What's happened in that time? Zero actual football games, and a few workouts without pads. Placing value on hype is, IMO, overvaluing. He's good looking, confident, will sell tickets and jerseys, oooh, ahhh. Again, I think he'll be good, but I don't want him at #13, and I REALLY don't think he's worth moving up for.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
I went w/ Andre Smith. No injury issues and the dude is flat dominant on the field. Oh did I mention our three OTs are coming off injury plagued seasons, two are aging guys and the young buck somehow is injury prone too.
Rey is my second choice, hands down. I won't bitch and moan if Orakpo falls to us but I don't think he'll make an impact this year. As OLB he'll struggle in coverage I think, and we require so much of our OLBs. I think eventually Orakpo would just move to RDE after AC heads down the road, that is so long as his knee holds up.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
Phrases like "workout warrior" and "high motor" make a big impression on me. We're not set for years to come on the d-line but adding Orakpo would pretty much get us there. A superior defense gives even a mediocre offense a much better chance for the win, obviously.
I won't cry if we took Oher or another top notch o-lineman or Maualuga but I will saw off my testicles if we draft Sanchez at 13. Actually that's mainly because the wife wants another kid and it makes for a good excuse.
