Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
It should be interesting to see how this pre-assembled coaching staff comes together. I just find it very odd to hire a head coach and throw a coordinator on him.

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
Think its good news for the Redskins. Wade Phillips is a pretty weak coach in my estimation. No way they are as good without "THE TUNA".

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
Interesting tidbit on the Dan Patrick show today ... of the 24 Super Bowl winning coaches, only 3 -- Bill Belichick(Browns), Mike Shanahan (Raiders), and Weeb Eubank -- won it in their second go-round as head coach.

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
He inherits a young, solid D that didn't play well at the end of the year for some reason. I see them being pretty solid on that side of the ball, as the transition shouldn't be that much.
On O, I wonder what impact Garrett will have on Romo et al. I would assume they'll have a new system & it will be Romo's first experience in learning a different nfl offense since he became pro. add in TO's drama, Glenn & that o-line getting older & you have to wonder how good that O can be? It will be interesting to see how they draft. Probably should nab a guard or OT first. |

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
#4 is our lucky number.
Gibbs could get his 4th ring with his 4th different starting QB in his 4th year back and be the 4th coach to win a Super Bowl in his second stint all with the a team finished 4th in the division this year. LOL |

I can't believe Bum Phillips is still kicking. He looked 80 when he was coaching the Saints.

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
"The flip side is he has a reasonable chance of hoisting a Super Bowl trophy sometime in the next few years. He certainly has a better chance of doing it in Dallas than anywhere else he’s been. So, again, what does he have to lose?"
I'm assuming he means as a head coach, otherwise he's a total dumbass.

Re: Wade Phillips is the new coach of the Pukes
So is Phillips the coach or is Jones. Indications are that Norv didn't get the job because he bristled against letting Garret be OC. Garret was hand picked by Jones. I am heartened that this seems like a total step backward here. Just analyze this sentence.
The Cowboys have gone from Bill Parcells to Wade Phillips as the coach of their supposed SB level team. As much as I HATE BILL PARCELLS he is still 400x the coach Wade Phillips is. This to me potentially relegates the 'Boys back to where they were before Parcells. A terrible team being run into the ground by Jones. Oh yeah they also kicked our ass anyways. We beat them more when they were good than when they sucked. Jeez. |

Anyone know how successful KC's offense was versus 3-4? I ask that because hopefully, under year 2 of the Saunders Experiment, we'll start looking a little more like the KC team {724Skinsfan winces at the potential onslaught of rebukes from that last part}.
