He's won 1 of 4 playoff games in his career. You good stretch to saying he's a franchise QB, and best in division right now. But given the talent around him I wouldn't peg him above Carr right now, and I'd rather see them play in the same division for a season before saying Dak was best. I don't think Carr is coming here, but if he does, I for one would be happy we had one of the 2 best QB's in the division.

He’s a choker, watched him for years. Rather have Garoppolo for less (he’s a choker too).

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1

If we got Carr or Wilson, and Samuel is healthy, we're winning the division in 2022.

I doubt we get either, but Samuel needs to play. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that for whatever reason, this just wasn't his year.

In general, I just don't see Raiders ditching Carr. Teams don't usually get rid of top 10-15 QBs.

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1

So here is where we are for QBs so far:
Aaron Rodgers-choker
DeShaun Watson-bad optics for a team in front of congress for sexual abuse to bring in a QB with 22 women accusing him of sexual abuse
Derek Carr-Choker
Jimmy Garoppolo-He's bad
Russell Wilson-This seems to be the general Commanders Post favorite
Draft a QB-Bad Batch
Mitch Trubisky-Not enough alcohol to numb the pain

IMO every single one of them probably makes us a better offense that what we had last season. Even Mitch.

Yep, that's where we're at. Do literally anything at QB and this is a better team. Just like they would have been had Fitz remained healthy all season.

The course of action I would prefer is to bring in a Veteran free agent QB, and then draft the best QB on the board at 11.

I feel I have come around to the same way of thinking. Any FA will be better and since it is a short term solution I can accept that. Definitely need to draft a qb but I am some what indifferent of round. I think the next few years we will be designating at least one pick a draft to qb

Yeah Trubisky is awful. Signing him is literally just changing names on a jersey.

If you draft a QB, play him.
Instead of spending 20 million for a journeyman QB you can use that money to add a lineman or WR.

I agree, if he gives the team a better chance to win.

I wouldn't spend any money on a free agent WR, unless it's bringing back one of our own.

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1

I'd say except for potentially losing Scherff, our OL is pretty strong. I'd use the draft to improve/add depth.
WR I agree with Chief on, this draft has some WR talent, so I'd look there. Plus IF Samuel can come back injury free and contribute, we may not need a new top level WR anyway.
I'd start a drafted QB IF there is patience in the organisation to allow them to flourish through growing pains. I'd get a strong FA or even a cost effective trade if there is no confidence in the likely available options. But I'd draft a QB regardless.
I'd use FA to bolster our LB and DB corps. We should draft there too, but we need at least 1 starting MLB out of FA or the draft, and I still maintain we should be seeking a free ranging ball hawk FS as a priority.
