Re: Redskins Sign Grossman

With all of the things that new NFL QB's have to learn, Tebow is going to add learning a new throwing motion and making it so solid that he doesn't revert to old ways under fire. Good luck with that.

I think a more intelligent path for Tebow is to just start prepping to be an H-back now.

What I find really funny though is we have 2 pages of Rex and like 17 pages of who should we draft. LOL.

Welcome to the Skins Rex.

Re: Redskins Sign Grossman

According to the Sporting News, Tebow has five team-specific workouts, and the Redskins is one of those teams.

With improved mechanics, Tebow shows 'he's a quarterback' - Matt Hayes - College Football - Sporting News

Here's another QB I'm not sold on.

He's not a day one starter, but McShay was really impressed with how far he's progressed in just 5 weeks. It is pretty impressive. He's been throwing the same way his whole life, and in less than 40 days he tweaked the motion significantly and was still able to impress with his throws today. The intangibles/leadership/athleticism has never been in doubt. If he can improve his mechanics that much in 5 weeks, how about if he sits for a few seasons behind an established QB?

I would love for the Redskins to draft Tebow. Heck, I may even shed a tear. But taking him with the 4th pick in the 2nd round may be too high, and he won't be there in the 3rd. Plus we don't have an established QB. He's probably not a fit for us, but I'd take him over Colt McCoy in a heartbeat. Hell, if we're not drafting a day 1 starter, I'd take him over Clausen, too.

Has it really been just 5 weeks though, because I thought he was also secretly practicing the new motion last summer but struggled with it and Meyer decided to just have him go back to what he's used to?

Anyhow my concern is that once he gets into game action his muscle memory will revert him to his old mechanics and ways.

Still, I wouldn't too much weight into Tebow being brought in for a private workout. Just due diligence

Re: Redskins Sign Grossman

Should I change this thread title to Will Okung Block for Grossman?

Anyhow

"We ran a lot of zone blocking in college, so that's where I'm most comfortable. But I can play whatever is needed. I'm not worried about it. "

Quick Hits from Russell Okung's Combine Press Conference - Arrowhead Pride

...but I still think we're taking Trent Williams
