If you hit a guy hard, and it's a CLEAN hit, and he gets carted off the field then guess what? That's football. What Phillip Daniels did back in 05 was great. Wire told The Buffalo News in Sunday's editions that "there was financial compensation" for delivering hits that seriously injured opponents, and three other former teammates, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also confirmed it to the newspaper.

So there you go. There's a player saying guys were paid to deliver hits that "seriously injured opponents."
