If the Rams are smart, their new head coach would see all their holes on their team and trade with us, we'd give them Jamal Brown and DeAngelo Hall, swap picks and give them I dunno a couple picks like our 3rd and 4th this year and 2nd and 3rd next year and they will definitely be in position to get Johnathan Martin or Riley Reiff Tackles from Stanford and Iowa, we get RG3.

Them.

Teams go into the draft with optimism and looking forward to the future, there is no optimism with Brown and Hall. In fact there is pessimism.

I sure hope we dont do this. We would be giving up to much.

I think Blackmon and Michael Floyd will both be very good players as rookies, though I think Justin Blackmon is going to have the much better career. He is the only receiver I would take at No. 6.

On the offensive line, I would consider David DeCastro and Jonathan Martin at no. 6.

And at corner, I would also consider Janoris Jenkins, Alfonzo Dennard, and Morris Claiborne there, with the team needing a really good cover corner.

With all that said, my 6th overall pick would be Trent Richardson. Not because of any need. But because he's the only player in the draft who was an elite college performer in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and would continue to be an elite player in the NFL in 2012.

Wait, if you're the Redskins, and if Trent Richardson is still on the board, that's who you'd draft?

Yes. The quarterback situation takes priority, and so I am not saying that I wouldn't trade the pick up (for Luck/Griffin) or trade the pick down (for Foles/Jones/Tannehill). But if you keep the pick, I think you don't pass on Trent Richardson.

I think it is good to get best player available but if there is a corner or linemen there at #6 who is just as good or close you have to take them since those positions are such higher areas of needs. If we don't go QB in the first, I think we need to look at Blackmon, a OL, or Morris Claiborne.

Well, I think there will be plenty of good players at every position available at sixth overall. And corner is one of the safest places you can go at the top of the draft.

To me though, Richardson belongs right below Andrew Luck as the top player in this draft. The only concern for me about Richardson as a player is he runs so hard and physical that he often has to come out of a game for a three play series after a brusing first down, and that really hurt the Alabama offense, particularly against LSU. But if Richardson only takes, say, 65% of our carries over the next three years, that plays right into the RB depth of our team with Helu/Royster.

We would have the best running game in the NFC East for the next three seasons if we picked Trent Richardson. Combined with the best group of LBs, now you really have something going. The quarterback situation still needs to be fixed in the same round, and that might cost you your third round pick to make that move, but with two fourths, you have that flexibility. That's my argument for Trent Richardson.

If Richardson, Blackmon, Luck, and Griffin are all gone in the first five picks, then I'd start looking at corner or offensive line.

If that's the case, I'd be thrilled with either Morris Claiborne or Matt Kalil.

Griffin, Luck, Kalil, or Claiborne. Trade back if they are not available and take a QB.

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........

If I told you that the Redskins could trade up to the first overall pick creatively, and it wouldn't cost us any of our young players, but it would cost you in sum: the 6th overall pick in 2012, our second round pick in 2012, our first round pick in 2013, and our second round pick in 2014, would you do that?

That's the price the Buccaneers paid to get Jon Gruden in 2002. And I think the same price could get the Redskins the first overall pick in this draft. I can explain if you wish.
