Shanahan does show a pretty extreme tendency against underclassmen though. Jarvis Moss and Ryan Clady both came out early and were first round picks by Shanahan, but you can almost be assured that the top of the Redskins board will be littered with seniors.

Basically, if there's a reason to believe that Barkley or Griffin won't be high on the Redskins board, it's because of precedent. With that said, I find it hard to believe if the Redskins pick in the top three, that neither Barkley or Griffin will be on their radar. Griffin in particularly seems like the kind of player that NFL scouts will fall in love with during the predraft process. And he's only kind of sort of an underclassman.

But it's also possible that the Rams will decide that RGIII is the greatest thing since sliced bread and take him, even though they don't exactly need a young QB.
