Re: Predict the Redskins record for the rest of the season

If we lose to Miami, is there any chance that Mike Shanahan gets fired? I mean we've seen Snyder do this sort of thing before, any chance that it happens again. I am just that angry that if we lose to Miami, we would be a joke and someone should get fired...

Our team is not that good to begin with. We barely came out of Arizona alive and had an underwhelming performance against the Rams. Hell, if Jim Zorn could stick around after losing to the 0-19 Lions, Mike Shanahan is a lock to stay.

According to various reports, Snyder began looking for a new coach after that loss to the Lions. Zorn essentially had been fired for weeks before the announcement was made.

That said, the talk of Shanny's ouster is premature.

Snyder indeed started looking for a new coach, but the actual pink slip didn't come until later in the season. So expecting Shanahan to see the pink slip right after the game is outright lunacy.

Snyder wanted Shanahan to take over that year reportedly

I'm already quite aware Zorn not being fired that day DOES NOT mean that Snyder still wanted to keep him. I'm not that dense at judging someone's (non)-actions. But I didn't say Snyder did not want to replace Zorn. I did not say that Snyder did not want to get rid of him for Shanahan after many a drink. I ONLY said he didn't fire him right after the Lions game. But that is not enough, I must accept that Daniel Snyder did fire Zorn after the Lions game. He was no longer on the sidelines from week 5 onwards and thusly, already packed his bags and went home. Q.E.D

Only time I can recall Danny Boy firing a coach in mid-season was when he fired Norv when Norv would not start Jeff George at QB so Danny Boy fired him and put a figurehead in charge for the final 3 or 4 games of the season.

He tried like Hell to get Zorn to resign by humiliating him and turning the play calling over to the guy from the Bingo Hall, but even Zorn stayed out the year.

Best record would be 8-8.

Most likely final record is 6-10.
