I hope we sack Lomax ( Neil ) too , as he has already shown he can light us up St. Louis Cardinals at Washington Redskins - December 16th, 1984 - Pro-Football-Reference.com

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

This is going to be a great game. I'm totally pumped for it. If we can become 2-0 before heading to Dallas then that would be awesome.

Only big matchup I think will make the difference is Kerrigan vs Heap/Shockey. I'm hoping our stud from Purdue doesn't get into a miss match to many times on an island.

I am pretty sure we can count on Shanny ensuring that.

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

I counted this game in my win column so I hope the Skins pull this one out as well. I just didn't and still don't see the Cards being as good as the Giants. Their WR's scare me a little but otherwise they are not as good as the Giants.

Offensively I see us having a better run game this week then last week. I think we could put up some yards in passing.

Defensively I still think the Giants had a better OL, so I foresee us getting a lot of pressure on Kolb hopefully forcing him to throw early or causing interceptions. Kerrigan was a spark. I'm expecting all the Skins DL to be hungary and they see pass I think we all will see everyones hands shooting up to block the ball.

Skins win 31-25

Washington have their own problems
Our only problem was in the secondary. If we give the Cards enough time they most likely will be able to move the ball. Offensively we are sound.

I believe our def cooridinator will come up with a plan. I think our offense is much better then the giants, and i believe we have the better running back and Qb.

Cards win 31 to 27.
The Cards have a better offense? better QB? I don't think so.

and.... lets not forget this is home field advantage for the Skins. Most prognosticators will tell you if both teams are somewhat equal pick the home team simply due to noise.

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

There is no such thing as a easy game in the NFL. The team that is more prepared, more motivated and executes better will win. The Skins need the same intensity and purpose they showed against the Giants. Sometimes its harder to beat the teams you are supposed to than the division rivals. Redskin teams in the past have played up or down to the level of competition. I would like to see for once, the Skins starting off strong and ending strong. A thorough butt whipping from beginning til end.

They're all fawning over Kolb's QBR when Football Outsiders has him with 74 DYAR and his TQBR is under 50. As long as we can hit him a lot, we can make him ineffective.

I would say a comment like that if say we were the Packers but the Redskins really are not a team that will look past anyone. We will be the underdog most of the season.
