Re: college football 2009 thread
As long as there are no playoffs and sports writers run the show this is what you can expect. The games are great but the bowls are rigged.

Re: college football 2009 thread
I think that teams should be scheduling tougher opponents. There's no way a team like Penn State should get BCS consideration playing Akron, Temple, Syracuse, Illinois, and Eastern Illinois. PSU played ONE ranked team the entire season. College football is and always will be about making money.

as far as penn state goes the whole big 10 is probably the most overhyped conference in the ncaa

Re: college football 2009 thread
Id say the Big East, Big Ten, and ACC are all over hyped

Re: college football 2009 thread
the big ten definitely is, the SEC is depth wise. very top heavy. i disagree about the ACC or big east, neither are really hyped at all, in fact people put them down more than anything.

Re: college football 2009 thread
Id say they are over-hyped because of there automatic BCS bids.

Re: college football 2009 thread
so do you think the sec is the only conference to get an automatic bowl bid?

Re: college football 2009 thread
I agree with you. The ACC isn't overhyped at all. In fact I know 3 teams off of the top of my head from that confrence who can beat Boise State, Cincy, and TCU. The sad thing is that none of them are anywhere close to the National Championship game even though they have each played at least 3 or 4 top 25 teams and 1 or 2 of those games was to a top 10 opponent. I am talking about Georgia Tech, Miami, and Virginia Tech. All three of which are not only in the ACC, but are all in the Coastal division and had to beat up on each other as well. While I agree that they are not quite deserving of the National Championship game, I believe that they are more worthy than Boise State, Cincy, and TCU.

Re: college football 2009 thread
Pretty emotional game for me watching Florida in Tim's last game. Man, I'm gonna miss him. I got so spoiled the last 3+ years. The first team in D1 history to win 13 games in consecutive years. The SEC is NFL, Jr. Cincy is easily a top 5 team, and Florida beat the living shit out of them in every aspect of the game. The Gator's athleticism is so far above Cincy's it's almost embarassing.
