He applied pressure up the middle every play. He was almost as big as Haynesworth. I think they thought they could put him on the practice squad. But it realy pisses me off.

True, but at least they have 1 thing in common, neither has taken a snap in the playoffs.

Not sure what the hype is about Dixon all of a sudden. Good story but still, an undrafted FA who didn't even start in college. Probably a career backup/journeyman at best. Just a numbers game at DT. You can't keep everyone.

We learned last yr you dont have to start in college to make an impact. Cassel-- but you are right, we'll see.
I didnt think he was a starter, just not a bad guy to have in the rotation.

Where's the H.B. Blades avatar?

Keeping Wynn helps Jarmon, Orakpo, with veteran leadership study and work habits. This will pay off throughout the year. Also there is not a tremendous drop off in defending the run when he gets into the game.

Many felt his preseason contributions warranted a spot on the roster, but by him being a DT they probably felt stacked at that position.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

I'm sad that we lost Dixon. He was a good player in preseason for us.

That said, anyone who is surprised that he was cut really is not paying attention. We have too many other DT's. He would have, at best, been on the practice squad all year long.

They also have that in common with Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez....and Timmy Chang. Just thought I'd throw that out.

you guys do realize that Chang played 5 yrs to get the records he got and CB played 3 and caught most of them? just throwing that out there.
And i believe Cutler goes this yr, Sanchez maybe.

He had a stretch of like 3 or 4 plays in a row where he was blowing things up -- I think it was the Baltimore game. He made a good impression for awhile.

In the end though, we just had too many DTs that could play. Like you said we can't keep everybody, and that's why I hope the roster restrictions are loosened once the new CBA takes effect.

Former pats QB O'Connell traded from lions to the jets.

That means absolutely nothing, unless you are Chang. That's like saying, "Do you know how many of Andre Ware's records that David Klingler broke?"

Unconfirmed report by Mort. But we may be signing QB Andre Woodson

I remember Jason White lighting it up at Oklahoma, and Weurffel at Florida. And that was against Big 12 and SEC teams. Just throwing that out there. Colt is headed down their path. College stud, pro dud.

Exactly. And Steve McNair tore it up against Alcorn State opponents -- so nobody really knows.
