Before I argue about colt maybe I should change this arguement fully to JC, answer me this along with my other previous questions before I answer your foolish and biased questions; where would you all rank JC among the other 31 starting QBs in the NFL 1 being the best?...and ruhskins I'm a stat guy sometimes as long as there to the point and not ridiculous...and yes me and that dbuch answered that chicks poor question it's on page 8 or 9 I think when I talked about all those QBs in the playoffs...and btw the junkies on 106.7 wjfk had people call in and took a poll about who is the better QB on their team flacco or JC and I remember it was 70-30 in favor of flacco...ouch! Look I used to be hyped up and piss my pants like you all do when JC comes on the field during his rookie year and second year, but by the end of his second year I figured oh next year he'll be even better then next year came and there wasn't much improvement I thought well next year he should be better then we switched offensive coordinators, I thought oh this shouldn't set him back that much he's a pro now he should be able to grasp an offense well...and that didn't happen, then he sucked towards the second half of the season..my friends family coworkers neighbors and so on are either redskin fans or watch the skins games when their other favorite team isn't playing, and we talk lots of skins talk and I would ask them was is it our redskins are not making the playoffs, and the constant answer I would get was JC is the reason why we suck, but me being the true skin fan I would say all the things I've heard from you all tonight on this board, and get responses like what I've told you all, then the more we would talk skins in the past the more they would say JC is not the answer...so to see for myself I played coach and I rewatched all 16 games from this past year and last year, and saw Campbell getting sacked way too much, not being able to call for where he needed protection, then I saw him throwing to the receiver whose running a 6 yard route on 3rd and 8 whereas randle el would be open on the 15 yd dig route I also saw Campbell over throw moss by about 8 yards and him under throw moss by 3 yards, had he of thrown it in front of him it would of been a walk in td I saw a lot of him not getting rid of the ball soon enough and too much of him throwing to his first choice and not seeing the field I also saw ARE and moss beat their man on several occasions, but Campbell didn't want to risk it so he throws the hitch to cooley for about 7 yards instead of to moss or el for about 15 yards...you look at his stats and you see all those completions but don't realize that there just let dump off passes to cooley or portis, or screens to moss by now Campbell shouldve thrown at least 20 tds in A season..and he still hasn't then after all that I realized he sadly isn't the answer; once a conservative QB, always a conservative QB...me arguing you all isn't gonna do anything cause you all think he's the answer and of course you'll be biased to him it won't be tell he's gone that you all will admit he wasn't good, and now you all are gonna give me his stats saying that he's one of the top QBs at this in the league or he may be better than this playoff QB or whatever, the point is he hasn't gotten us to the playoffs and being the realistic person I am, I don't see him doing that for us; plus the stats only tell you half the story, and one of my favorite bill parcells quotes is you are what your record says you are we didn't deserve to go to the playoffs after starting 6-2 and finishing 2-6 while getting beat by cincy and San fran losing to Dallas by four at our house and barely squeeking by Philly last I checked our defense was the problem for two of those games and our offense led by you know who was the problem for the rest of those games...and btw if we tried to trade JC then why was it that no one showed interest in Investing a first or second rounder for him? And with the cutler talks I heard we were gonna swap QBs and trade some picks but Denver didn't want Campbell and took orton over him...double oouchh!!

Other thoughts I saw while monitoring the board

Ruhskins and lotus, gtripp and joe think JC is JC and ruhskin takes the whole injury thing I said way too seriously and someone thinks I'm actually gonna hurt JC

Redskingirl has no meaning to this conversation cause she asked me to name every QB that's better than JC in the playoffs, and I said all of them are, plus she's getting her stats from NFL.com so I coils careless about what a girl has to say about my redskins

Someone said something like us brennan fans only give our opinions and not the facts of what others have said, and what I have to say to that is that I haven't seen anything of truth or value worth arguing for or against your points and opinions are pretty meaningless cause your all so blind to the fact of how JC isn't goodbyt you all pray and think, and beleive he is..I think deseal44 had the best thing to say with QB protection and what not on page like 13 or 14 I believe

Someone said that them and that skins girl are more knowledgeable than I am in football, and they are still wrong I spend hours watching the skins over and over again checking what they did wrong etc etc and can tell you lots about offense defenses who to play and lots of football facts especially about college and the NFL

I ask you to name every "subpar" QB in the playoffs not every QB.

You didn't answer my questions. You and Buch. never explained why teams with subpart QB play still managed to make the playoffs. All you said was that Collins, Flacco,Ryan, and Ben were better than JC even though they had similar stats to JC. They didn't throw alot of TDs so how were there teams able to average over 20 pts a game??

The only thing Buch said is that those teams averaged more than 13 points a game in the second half of the season.

Neither one of you explained how those four teams were able to average more than 13 points a game? Those four teams QBs were throwning about same amount of TDs that JC was throwing.

This isn't about being a JC fan or Brennan fan. I like JC, Brennan, and Collins. i wish all three could start. I think the skins would have still finished 8-8 regardless who started. You missing the point. The point is just changing QB is not going to make the skins a better team without making improvements in other areas. There are four teams who offenses(passing) were as pathetic as the skins, but still got to the playoffs. Their QBs didn't throw a ton of TDs. They were conservative QBs. They didn't play like Brady. The type of QBs you both hate. You and Buch. made it seem like if JC would have thrown just a couple more TDs than the skins would have been in the playoffs. Look at all the teams who QBs threw a ton of TDs and still missed the playoffs. A team needs more alot more than great QB play to get to the next level. The skins had a #4 defense who couldn't score a TD off a defensive turnovers. There is something wrong when a team defense is ranked number #4 and hasn't scored a TD off a defensive turnover. All the teams in the playoffs had at least scored a touchdown from a defensive turnover.

A couple of more questions I would like answered.

How does Cooley lead the redskins in TDs in 07 and got barely one in the 08 season?? It was the same QB throwning TDs so what happened???

How come the minute Moss gets injured the offense seems to all of sudden cease to exist? Review 06, 07, and 08 seasons. Look at the Lions game in 08where Moss pulled his hammy. Things for the offense started to go downhill from there.

Better yet how come teams like Steelers, Giants can lose key players and don't miss a beat? When the skins lose just one key player things start to fall apart?

How come the skins defense ranked 8th in 07, but scored 4 TDs off defensive turnovers?? Didn't the skins fourth ranked defense couldn't produce a TD from a defensive turnover. Please explain that one to me.

How come by game eight everyone watching a skins game could predict exactly what play Zorn/Smith was going to call on 2nd and 3rd down?

Since you want to bring up the Dallas game, if Moss would have caught the pass Campbell threw in double coverage, than the skins probably would have won that game. The pass was a little overthrown, but it was catchable and he should have caught it. The Dallas loss was really due to bad coaching.


Everyone on here saying JC does deserve some of the blame, but his isn't solely responsible for the skins collaspe. Coaching, DL, OL, receivers, & special teams need too get the blame also.

Look at all the Steelers game last season. They had similar problems to the skins: injured RB, bad oline, QB didn't throw over 20 TDs, but yet they still managed to average 21 ppg and even win a superbowl. Big Ben held the ball too long, checkdown, etc. He did alot of the things you complained JC did, but look how Tomlin put Ben in better situtations than Zorn put Cambpell in.

That's actually a pretty fair comparison between the Skins and Steelers. The Steeleres, however, have a much better playmaking defense. Santonio Holmes or Hines Ward would be the #1 wide out on this team and I would say that Nate Washington would have been the #2. They had playmakers at wide out, the Skins have Santana and he never stays healthy. The wide receiver corps for the Skins has been very inconsistent for a long time. Even when Santana's healthy, he still drops a lot of balls.

On the first/second drive alone there were 2 consecutive passes that would have gone for first downs and at least 3 others that game where the ball was dropped. There were a lot of drops last season, the whole offense was inconsistent, not just Jason. After the O Line got banged up, Clinton was slumping, Jason was missing some guys and receivers were dropping balls. To say that it was totally Jason holding the team back is just ignorant, there was little about the offense that was good at the end of the season last year.

Please, I've seen Cowboy fans on this site say better things about Jason Campbell than this guy (or make better arguments). But my money would be on him being a Cowboy fan.

I pretty sure I put your name down but anyways I asked her what a subpar QB is in Her book and she never gavely me a clear answer and I'm pretty sure I answered her question back on page 8 or 9 of the thread talkin' about all the QBs of the playoffs...I'm still waiting for YOU and redskin girl and everyone else whose question my thoughts on JC to rank him with other QBs in league, but like one of you said to me I beat around the facts and give opinions, but you all do the same here ...you still cannot call me a cowboys fan, that's one of the biggest disrespectful things you can say to me considering I'm most likely a bigger fan than you, having gone to all 8 games last year, then rewatching them twice I own four current skins jerseys, go to pretty much all the skins charity events and autograph signings, have met about 20 or so of the players on the team, and always am talkin' smack with cowboy eagle and steeler fans that I'm neighbors with or work with and yes I would stick up for Jason just like you all are doing for him right now, so for you to say that I'm a cowboys fan, your dead wrong, I know way more about the skins than you do...now answer my question where would you rank JC among QBs in the NFL??

You nailed it right on the head. Having playmakers (besides the QB) on both sides of the balls is what seperates the skins last season from teams like the Giants, Steelers, Raven etc. For some reason Buch and NFlnick don't get it. You don't have to have a great QB to win games. The last two superbowls were won with QBs who "stastically" played about the same or worse than Campbell. Big Ben is more "clutch" than Campbell, but is that solely due to Big Ben been a better decision maker? How much does other factors such coaching/playcalling, receivers(running good routes/catching balls) come into play for a QB to become "clutch"?

JC may not be the answer, but who is to say Brennan is. Just because he did well in games that don't count doesn't he will play the same during regular season. As I stated before he didn't have the pressure in preseason he will have during the regular season. Its easy to rack up a ton of yards in preseason because defenses aren't really playing up to their full potential. So are you saying since Brennan played better than JC than he should have started??? Well following your logic McMullen played better than Moss in preseason, so we should have kept McMullen and let him started over Moss right? Mason played better than Portis, so we should have made Portis the #2 back and made Mason the #1???

I'd say that sums it up pretty well. That and a lack of a scoring/turnover abled defense usually won't get you but so far.

Apparently not. The Steelers had the 20th ranked scoring offense. That's right.... 20th. Not very good huh? The difference is their defense allowed almost 5 points a game less than the Redskins. We lost 3 games by less than 5 points. Those 3 losses turned into wins would have put us at 11-5 and in the playoffs. Our 4 highest draft picks were used on defense. Why? Can you answer that? Apparently the thought is this "6th ranked" defense isn't good enough. Your posts are sounding more like all the time. Try seeing the big picture if you can.

We lost 3 games by less than 5 points. Those 3 losses turned into wins would have put us at 11-5 and in the playoffs. Our 4 highest draft picks were used on defense. Why? Can you answer that? Maybe because they used most of our picks the yr before on OFFENSE.

1. lost to the RAMS 19-17
2. Lost to the Cowboys 14-10
3. Lost to the 9ers 27-24

Ill give you the 9er game because they scored in the high 20's but the other 2 hmm.. to say the defense lost those games with the other team scoring under 20 pts is just crazy.

You didn't answer my questions. You and Buch. never explained why teams with subpart QB play still managed to make the playoffs. Neither one of you explained how those four teams were able to average more than 13 points a game? Those four teams QBs were throwning about same amount of TDs that JC was throwing.

This isn't about being a JC fan or Brennan fan. I like JC, Brennan, and Collins. i wish all three could start. I think the skins would have still finished 8-8 regardless who started. You missing the point. The point is just changing QB is not going to make the skins a better team without making improvements in other areas. There are four teams who offenses(passing) were as pathetic as the skins, but still got to the playoffs. Their QBs didn't throw a ton of TDs. They were conservative QBs. They didn't play like Brady. The type of QBs you both hate. You and Buch. made it seem like if JC would have thrown just a couple more TDs than the skins would have been in the playoffs. Look at all the teams who QBs threw a ton of TDs and still missed the playoffs. A team needs more alot more than great QB play to get to the next level. The skins had a #4 defense who couldn't score a TD off a defensive turnovers. There is something wrong when a team defense is ranked number #4 and hasn't scored a TD off a defensive turnover. All the teams in the playoffs had at least scored a touchdown from a defensive turnover.

A couple of more questions I would like answered.

How does Cooley lead the redskins in TDs in 07 and got barely one in the 08 season?? It was the same QB throwning TDs so what happened???

How come the minute Moss gets injured the offense seems to all of sudden cease to exist? Review 06, 07, and 08 seasons. Look at the Lions game in 08where Moss pulled his hammy. Things for the offense started to go downhill from there.

Better yet how come teams like Steelers, Giants can lose key players and don't miss a beat? When the skins lose just one key player things start to fall apart?

How come the skins defense ranked 8th in 07, but scored 4 TDs off defensive turnovers?? Didn't the skins fourth ranked defense couldn't produce a TD from a defensive turnover. Please explain that one to me.

How come by game eight everyone watching a skins game could predict exactly what play Zorn/Smith was going to call on 2nd and 3rd down?

Since you want to bring up the Dallas game, if Moss would have caught the pass Campbell threw in double coverage, than the skins probably would have won that game. The pass was a little overthrown, but it was catchable and he should have caught it. The Dallas loss was really due to bad coaching.


Everyone on here saying JC does deserve some of the blame, but his isn't solely responsible for the skins collaspe. Coaching, DL, OL, receivers, & special teams need too get the blame also.

Look at all the Steelers game last season. They had similar problems to the skins: injured RB, bad oline, QB didn't throw over 20 TDs, but yet they still managed to average 21 ppg and even win a superbowl. Big Ben held the ball too long, checkdown, etc. He did alot of the things you complained JC did, but look how Tomlin put Ben in better situtations than Zorn put Cambpell in.

Well, the point is you gave a terrible and biased answer, because you don't even know who was in the playoffs last year. Kerry Collins, Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, Jake Delhomme and Tavaris Jackson all quarterbacked teams in the playoffs. Only ONE of those players was better in the regular season than Campbell. One. That means Campbell would have been the ninth best playoff Quarterback based only on 2008 results.

Telling you which one of them it was kinda defeats the purpose, as they all got there on the coattails of their teams. I'd rather just have you mindlessly speculate with limited information. It's been pretty enjoyable to this point.
