I was listening to Mel Kiper the other night & he said that Flowers running a 4.58 in the combine was nothing to get worked up over. He cited a lot of examples of combine workouts being false advertising.
On nfl network they talked about "manufactured speed." These guys work on their 40 times for the combine & it boosts their stock. But how many cb's run in a game from a 3 pt. stance? 40 times are a better measure of wr speed than db's.
There are a no. of guys that are probably at least a little overated. Rogers-Cromartie is one of those guys that teams might take a chance on because of his combine showing, but before that he wasn't that high a prospect.
We can get a good corner that can play nickel his rookie year & eventually start w/out using our 1st round pick IMO.
