I'm hoping that Joe and Dan talked to the coaches and let them know what was going to happen, or maybe no one knows but Gregg, Joe, and Dan. That they know Gregg is getting it but are pretty much saying to the media, "I'm not gonna tell, your feet smell, you ask me again and you can go to hell"

I'm hoping that's the way it's going to go. That Gregg will be named coach, but not until everyone proclaims that The Danny is going to sign whatever coach they want to say he will. Maybe Dan learned from Joe. Let's hope for our sakes.
Good post. i was thinking of starting a thread to pose the question: What does the Danny have to gain by fooling everyone & prolonging this? I thought that maybe he's trying to affect other teams in their hiring process, but what would be his gain?

There is nothing to gain by doing that. I can't think of one reason why. It's a waste of a billionaire's time, and they view time as money.

He's not interested in GW.

Bringing in Schwartz also indicates that Snyder's hesitancy on Williams may be largely personal. He knows that if he hires someone outside, Williams will leave so he brings in someone who he thinks can do what Williams did from a defensive standpoint to be the guy. If he didn't dislike Williams he could just promote him. Basically Schwarts background says they don't expect Williams to be here. If he were an Offensive guy, Williams might still leave (with Blache and Grey) and then you'd be adrift defensively.

I don't know, 70. I can't see Williams putting a $1MM clause in Williams contract if he has something personal. Too have him in mind at one moment and then turn around a million dollars and have a change of heart just doesn't seem right to me. Not to mention that Williams' defense finished eighth in the NFL.

JLC had a post on his blog saying that clause doesn't exist. I've heard it on the radio as well.
